I finally finished selling papes with Les and David. I then turned towards David and spoke up to him about y/n.

"So David, how do you impress a goil?" I ask

"Who's the special lady?" David asked

"Well, ya know. The goil that was woikin' at da circulation gate?"

"Well yeah"

"Yeah I think I might.. like. 'Er"

"Ooh, cowboy has a crush!" Les teased

The sun has fallen and it was only me and Sarah awake. I then turned to her.

"Hey Sair, can I ask ya somethin'"

"It's may, but yes, you can"

"Your friend.. y/n."

"What about her?"

"Is she.. single?"

*gasp* "DAVEY!"

"Shush Sarah, Mom and Poppa is still sleeping"

"Hehe sorry, but why didn't you tell me sooner? I could've told her"

"No no no, don't. I just wanna know, what is she into? Like how do I impress her?"

"Well, she likes it when boys are nice and just act like themselves"

I was sitting in the Manhattan lodge house. I waited till all of them left the room so I could talk to Race. Once they all left it was only me and Race in the room.

"So Race, y/n. What does she like?" I asked

"Spot.. likes.. a goil?"

"Yeah, of course I do, she's has faith in 'erself. And I's like a goil who has confidence ya know"

"Well I don't know if Kid will approve of dis, maybe he will. But y/n, she loves a boy that treats 'er wit' respect and gives 'er attention"

It was a new day and we were all getting ready for the day. I cant wait to see y/n again. All the boys were talking about their day yesterday.

"Heya Mush, what'd you do yestaday?" Bumlets asked

"Met dis goil last night" I replied (come on, we all waited for this)

"Who's tha lil lady?" Race asked

I was hanging out with Spot at tibby's diner.

"So Spot, 'bout cha sista. What does she uh like?"

"She caught your heart?"

"I mean, you could say it like dat"

"Two woids for ya Race. Kind. And Gambling. She loves a guy that's nice ta 'er and that knows how ta start a bet"

"Shit. Your sista don't know what's gonna come 'er way"

I was standing there with Tumblr watching y/n walk away. Then I felt someone touch my shoulder. I then turned around, it was Bumlets.

"Hey Skittery, who's da goil you were doin' googly eyes at?" Bumlets asked

"Y/n. She's so nice, I ain't neva met a goil that nice to us newsies"

"Youse 'ave a thing?"

"Pftt I wish, I just met 'er"

"But you want 'er as your goil aye?"

"Yeah, but i's don't know anythin' 'bout a goil"

"Just go up ta 'er and tell 'er ya wanna hangout sometime. Get ta know 'er. Be nice ta 'er. Give 'er attention, dats what goil's like"

I was selling some papes by myself then I ran into Crutchy. I thought this would be a great time to ask him how to impress a girl. Since I literally knew nothing about flirting.

"Heya Crutchy, can I ask ya somthin'?"

"Yeah, what's up Specs?"

"How do ya impress a goil?"

"Well, yous gotta do somethin' that makes 'er feel special, like give 'er flowahs or a free pape"

"Hmm yeah, dat would please a goil I guess"

"Who's da goil?"

"Well.. it's David's cousin"

"You mean like Davey Davey?"

"Youse gotcha self in a pickle, Davey is protective 'bout 'is family"

"But who knows, he might accept it cause yous 'is friend"

We all got back to the lodge house after we came from tibby's diner. All the boys started doing their own thing before I spoke up.

"Can i ask youse a question?"

"'Bout what Blink?" Mush asked

"It's probably 'bout tha goil at Tibby's" Race teased

All the boys then started to laugh at Race's joke.

"Ye-ah, yous correct Race, it is 'bout tha goil at Tibby's"

"Well, what do ya wanna know?"

"I's wanna ask 'er out but ah, i's don't know how ta"

"Well, get ta know 'er first. She was readin' on tha countah right?"

"Yeah"

"Well, give 'er a free pape, if she loves ta read"

"Yeah, dats smart.. then what else?"

"Take things slow, get ta know 'er, ya kno?"

"Yeah, yeah, alright. Thanks Race"
