The story

12 hours away on the reservation

Alex POV

"Okay so let me get this straight......you want me....to do WHAT?!"

my mate had obviously taken some crazy pills or something cos he couldn't be serious

"i want you to dress up as a girl and go spy on my cousin to make sure she isn't doing anything that would embarrass herself in the future"

he looked at me with those adorable eyes and all i could say was

"no way in hell!!"

hah!!  mate or no mate he was not getting around me on this one!!!!

"i kinda figured you'd say that....oh well it was worth a try..."

he looked at me through his lashes and got this little smirk on his face....i was gonna kill him

"your an idiot, a complete and overprotective idiot! your cousin can handle herself..shes a big girl"

he laughed throatily and then put his arms around my neck,

"i just wanted to see how far i could push you"

he whispered it into my neck and it felt incredible..i put my hands on his waist and lifted him onto my lap. now we were both sitting on the sofa

well.... i was....

i chuckled and murmured

"not that far"

he laughed and lay his head on my chest, as he lay there he traced several of my scars before stopping and licking one in particular......i tensed

this is what he'd been doing lately. focusing on one of my scars and asking about it. now i didn't really mind but this scar had a different story and it wasn't mine to tell. it was Rains.

i looked down and i could see the question in his eyes.....he so desperately wanted to know....and i couldn't keep him out of the loop, he was my mate and mates knew everything about each other.

i sighed and leaned back, resting my head on the back of the sofa and started to tell him the story

"i got this one five years ago"

FLASHBACK

"cmon rain were gonna be late"

the house was dark and silent and i was glad....it meant HE wasn't home. i was standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting for Rain to come down so that we could head to school.

we always waited for eachother....it didnt matter that everybody thought it was weird that me and Rain spent too much time together...we had no one else so for us it was fine

"coming...i just..cant find my..."

her voice drifted away as she looked around for her...whatever...i had no idea what she was looking for before i saw one of her converses next to the staircase

"Rain you looking for a shoe?"

her face appeared over the banister

"yup"

she smiled and i laughed

"its down here"

she laughed and came bounding down the stairs, she even bounded gracefully, and ran into my arms, probably giving me a bruise

"thanks bro...be two secs"

i nodded and waited sighing dramatically

she was only eleven but she was strong as hell and sometimes that scared me.......have i been training her too hard?
