“W-what do you mean?” I asked, dusting myself off as Kol helped me up.

“Don’t play dumb Eri. You know exactly what he’s talking about.” Klaus raised an eyebrow.

“Err, emm,-“

“Her and Kol are Soul mates.” Elijah cut in making me glare at him.

“Elijah!” I snapped, but it was muffled by Damon’s loud laughing.

“I’m sorry. What?” Damon asked through his laughter.

“It’s true.” I was surprised that this time, it was Kol who had said it.

“And where did you get this idea from?” Stefan asked.

“An old women called Lucinda.” I muttered, looking at the floor.

Damon burst out laughing again and Stefan chuckled slightly.

Whilst Klaus stared at me in shock.

“L-lucinda? Lucinda and Caleb?” He stuttered, still looking utterly shocked.

I nodded, sharing a look with Kol.

“What do you know about them?” I asked Klaus.

“No. You two can’t be…” He trailed off.

I frowned as Kol spoke.

“What are you talking about?”

Klaus looked at us both before replying.

“I have known Lucinda and Caleb for many years. They used to tell me stories about the two destined lovers. Fated to be together. I would never have imagined it would be two.”

“I still don’t know if it’s true yet. I-I just don’t know.” I sighed, rubbing my temples.

“Oh come on Verity! What proof do you need? I’ve seen the way you look at each other. Your inspirable. When you’re having a conversation, it’s like there is no one else in the room. And I can’t bear to interrupt it because I feel like I will cause some kind of damage.” Elijah exclaimed.

“Ok, ok hold on a minute. So you believe they are soul mates?” Damon asked Elijah and Klaus in shock.

They both nodded.

Damon stayed silent. Not knowing how to respond.

Taking a deep breath, I headed for the door. Quickly opening it, I walked out; into the cold night.

It wasn’t long before I heard footsteps behind me.

“Verity!” Shouted that knee weakening voice, which I had fallen so deeply in love with.

I slowly turned to look at him. Not saying anything.

“What’s wrong?” He asked hesitantly, like he was scared of the answer.

“Everything.” I breathed, blinking back tears. So many things were happening at once.

He didn’t say anything this time; he was the one who kept silent.

“Do you believe it?” I asked.

He answered the question in a heartbeat. His voice so determined, so sure.

“I do believe it….yes.”

The reply took me off guard, making me look up at him in surprise.

“Why?”

.

.

“Because I am so in love with you.”

I don’t know what came over me. But suddenly I wasn’t standing still anymore. I was walking. My legs walking without my brains consent. But more like my hearts.

And before my mind could register it, I had taken his face in my hands and kissed him with all the passion I had in me.

He seemed shocked at my actions at first, but soon kissed back with just as much passion.

“I love you too.” I mumbled between kisses, feeling him smile against my lips.

Pulling away, both breathless; we grinned at each other.

“You are so beautiful.” He whispered.

I looked down, feeling my cheeks heat up.

What is happening to me? I’m like a love sick puppy!

That’s because you are a love sick puppy.

Kol cupped my chin, making me look up at him again.

“Never leave me. Ever.”

“Not ever.”
