Going through something that consumes me
My mind floating gently on the wind
My heart races like a banshee’s, free
But my spirit, no man may rescind
From the hands of the one who cares
The one who believes in me
The only one who dares
To give his heart to me
For him, I will wait forever
It is a cost I am willing to pay
For how can I say “never”?
To the light that brightens my day
To the one who uplifts my heart
Encouraging me each day
Joining in a brand new start
Loving in an incredible way
For him, I would dare it all
For him, I would dare to dream
For I know I never could fall
If we, were but a team
The one that I can love truly
The one that would love me back
Cherishing me with the respect duly
Sealing softly in the crack
My heart had surely endured
When the earthquake shook my life
Melting into the absurd
My heart all filled with strife
Can I find the one to mend
The broken heart inside
To find that love that will never end
The one to help me finish the ride
He who can bring the sunlight
That shines bright inside of me
The one who can help me fight
The one who can set me free
For my heart to roam the range
Of this world’s awesome endeavor
For my spirit to change
For once, for now, forever
Into that blossoming flower
Whose petals have been brightened
Standing close to the power
Where all our burdens are lightened
To know the awesome joys of love
And weather through life’s sorrow
Together, forever, bound to shove
Away the cobweb…that hides a whole new tomorrow
