"Kuya..."
"Hmm?" I groaned.
"Kuya... Gising."
"Ano..." I answered, still feeling sleepy.
"Gising na! Ayan kasi, iinom-inom kahit may pasok kinabukasan!"
I opened my eyes because of what Teirra said.
"Anong oras na ba?" I asked.
"It's already 5am, idiot! Hindi ba't may pasok ka mamayang alas-siyete? Sige ka! Traffic pa naman ngayon!" banta niya.
I had no choice but to wake up.
Damn you, Klent.
Bumangon ako mula sa pagkakahiga at agad na umikot ang huwisyo ko.
I massaged my temples. "Fuck..."
Teirra sighed. I scanned her. Nakabihis na siya ng uniform niya.
"Kay Devant ako sasakay," she said, answering my unsaid question.
Tumango nalang ako.
Huminga siya nang malalim.
"Sige na, kuya. Maligo ka na! Pasalamat ka nga ginising pa kita, e," sambit niya at lumabas na ng kuwarto ko.
After preparing myself, I successfully stood up without losing my balance. I stared at mirror.
"Damn, I look like a mess," I whispered to myself.
I sighed.
Nakalimutan kong mag-aral.
Putangina.
"Hi, dre!" bati ni Klent nang makarating ako sa garden.
The squad were there.
I glared at him.
"Bakit parang ako lang nagka-hangover sa ating dalawa?"
He laughed, "Bakit? Nalasing ba 'ko?"
"Nag-inom kayo kahapon?" Renoah asked.
Klent nodded.
"Oo! Tangina niyo kasi nagsialisan! Naghanap kami ng chix ni Patrick sa bar! Kaso mahina si gago! Nalasing agad! Ako tuloy nagkarga sa punyetang 'yan!"
Hindi ako sumagot.
I'm busy sulking about my performance in the task earlier. It was a recorded test and contributes so much in our final grades.
Maya-maya ay tumikhim si Klent.
"So ano, dre? Magmumokmok ka lang talaga diyan? 'Di mo gagawin 'yung sinabi mo kahapon?" he said.
I sighed.
I may be drunk yesterday but I always remember the things happened during that time regardless of the amount of liquor I drank.
"What do you mean?" it was Drei.
"I..." panimula ko.
"I appreciate the concern you guys have given to me yesterday, to give me time for myself."
"Though, I could say, I didn't actually needed it. But maybe it helped. Through Klent's words too."
"And?" si Renoah.
"And, I'm thanking you guys for giving me that. Also, to apologize for what I acted yesterday. I know my response to Lucy was rude," I continued.
Nanahimik sila.
"It was just... I didn't want to console myself everyday because of the same repeated situation. I prepared myself for the worst case that could happen. That maybe... Cassi could die."
