Marinette awoke in a room with Jon staring at her worriedly.

"What happened?" Marinette asked and saw Audrey standing there too.

"You passed out darling, it's ok though you're going to be ok," Audrey said and Jon held her hand biting his lip.

"Could you give us a minute?" Jon asked and Audrey reluctantly left the room.

"I don't have a lot of time left Jon, I know I don't. I can feel life draining away from me so you need to get as far away from here as possible when everything does go south ok, promise me you'll be ok!" Marinette cried out in hysteria.

"No, not without you and not without him, you need each other ok so please stop this and let's just get out of here," Jon said and Marinette turned her head tears dripping down her face and onto the floor. "Please," he begged holding her hand tight in his feeling the light pulse against her wrist getting weaker and weaker.

The door slammed open and Jon looked up to see Damian and Lila standing there. "You," Jon hissed at Lila who had the audacity to look shocked.

Another joined at the door, Adrien stood there staring at his bride to be who was white as paper and coughing off to the side weakly.

"What is wrong with her?" Adrien asked eyes angry. "Why did you say that to her?" Adrien asked Jon backing the boy into a corner. "Did she do something to her?" Adrien asked pointing at Lila who looked around worried for her own safety in a room with two feral men, a concerned scared brother, and a dying woman. "Tell me you whore!" Adrien said raising his hand but it was caught behind him by Jon.

"That's not a very nice thing to say to a lady, considering that you're the one who was late for his appointment with Marinette because he was in an alleyway with her younger brother who happens to walk a lot faster and pushed someone in with his sister before said perv could get there," Jon said with a shit eating smile spread wide across his face.

"Jon?" Marinette asked before coughing and Jon socked Adrien in the face before nodding to Damian to grab his sister and the older did running out of the room as fast as possible. Adrien stood up and grabbed Jon by the neck strangling the younger until the blond noticed that his bride was gone.

"I'll be back to finish you later, you cheap worthless street walker," Adrien growled into Jon's ear dropping him on the floor before grabbing a gun and walking out of the room. Jon got up and ran the other way seeing some stairs that could get him higher up to see how this all played out.

Marinette laid in Damian's arms shaking. "Damian, you know I didn't mean anything I said to you right, I needed you to move on, so please, stop," Marinette said sobbing as they exited the building.

"I'm going to save you, you just need to hold on ok?" Damian said and Marinette shook her head.

"Promise me something," Marinette said and Damian shook his head tears falling down his face. "Put me down and promise me goddamn it!" she yelled and Damian fell to his knees placing her on the dirty wet ground. "You once told me that the greatest thing is to love someone and be loved in return, so please, find someone who loves you the way you love me, come what may, I will love you until my dying day," Marinette said tears falling harder. "Take care of my brother, too, he's the most important thing in my life, that's my dying wish Damian, please," Marinette said.

"I-I," Damian stuttered and Marinette grabbed his shirt.

"Promise me," she groaned out and the door slammed open and Adrien stood there gun aimed at Damian.

"I promise," he whispered as her head fell back body limp. Adrien's arm dropped in shock, Jon almost fell off the roof eyes wide and pooling with tears, and Damian just kneeled over her body looking down sadly. Damian's teeth ground together as he reached out and hugged Marinette close. Adrien dropped the gun staring still before Lila ran out standing behind him dragging him back inside.

Jon stood on the rooftop staring down at Damian who had her cold body pressed into his, he knew Damian couldn't help but think that it should have been him. He was the one who kept pressuring her into seeing him not even knowing the own risk he was putting on his head. She had done this for him and that thought would stay with him. Damian looked up and saw Jon collapse on the rooftop finally taking in everything letting out a scream of pain before sobbing uncontrollably.

Damian grabbed the drain pipe on the side of the building and climbed up to the boy holding him close as they both cried into each other. "Why are you doing this?" Jon asked.

"I promised her I'd take care of you, and I intend to honor that promise," Damian said and Jon nodded into the older's chest as they stood up leaving the roof and Marinette behind. They couldn't still be there when Adrien returned to finish them off for good.

"Where are we going to go, he'll follow us?" Jon asked and Damian kept pulling him along.

"Home."

........

"He then took the boy back to America with him letting a family friend raise him to become a better person never having to see the awful man again but no matter how bad things turned out for his sister he couldn't help but think that it was all his fault. That he could have done something, that either of them, could have done anything to stop it. They saw her dead body recovered in the papers before they left leaving that as their only mourning, they may still be scared that he's coming after them but stories need to be told. They leave people with lessons with a better sense of grace, and as a better rounded person." Jon stared out at the people sobbing and blowing their noses all except for one pair of emerald green eyes were dripping tears down their cheeks and covered in snot. "My cousin was the best at what she did but not with how she expressed her feelings, I did that part, they were right for each other. Everything is a game of truth, beauty, freedom, and love in storytelling. My name is Jonathan Duapin-Cheng Kent and that was the story of how my sister found love for the first time." Applause startled him and people surrounded him. Jon just looked up hoping his sister could be watching from the heavens on the justice he did her.

"We have to go," Damian said pulling Jon away from the people and into his car. "It wasn't bad for your first time telling the story," Damian said.

"Would she be...." Jon started.

"She would be more than proud, not a doubt in my mind."
