"Rescue me?" Azzalea couldn't help but laugh in his face. She pointed at him. "You, Wade, thought you were going to march up here with Randy and take me back."

Wade shook his head. "No, I didn't come here for you. I came for proof."

"Proof of what?"

He nodded towards River and Briar. "Them. I had an encounter with one of them years ago and with everything that's been going on... Anyway, I wanted to bring back proof that sasquatches exist."

Azzalea laughed again. "Well good luck, because they don't." She turned and looked up to her Giant. He glared at Wade and the little boy he brought with him. She could hear his growl deep in his chest.

"What do you mean? Azzalea, you are so confused right now." Wade shook his head. He went to stand, but the growl coming from the beast behind him made him stop. He glanced back at him. "These are beasts, not men."

She coughed. "The only beasts that were in these woods were Randy and his brothers. This Giant here is the best man I have ever met." She turned her eyes back up to River. "Why did you bring them here?"

Wade listened to Azzalea as she grunted to the sasquatch.

River looked down into her eyes. "I don't know, my Fawn. I am sorry if I cause you more sadness." He searched her face. "Something came over me and told me not to kill them. The older male I know from years back. He was the first human I ever truly encountered. The young one," he paused and looked over to him. "Is familiar. His scent is so clouded with fear, it's hard to tell, but I feel as though I know him as well."

Azzalea looked over to the quivering teenager. "Why are you here? Who are you?"

"Uh.... Uuuum..." He teeth were chattering. "I'm Blake. I'mmmm here because.... Well... I ... Uuuuh...." He jumped when Wade elbowed him. "Because you saved my life." He took a shaky breath and looked to the monster as it towered over Azzalea. "From him." He pointed slightly.

"He is from the woods. Remember when those two boys came to the cave."

River nodded. "Why do they come here?"

"Wade, wants proof that you exist and the boy," Azzalea shrugged, "he probably doesn't even know."

"He wants proof of the creature you thought I was at first?" River didn't understand why humans couldn't leave good enough alone.

Azzalea turned back to the meat. She grabbed a cloth and took the hot pan from the fire. "Yes, River."

"What will you have me do?" River was ready to do whatever his mate told him to. If Azzalea spoke even the hint of death, he could carry it out. No one was going to put his family in jeopardy, even if that meant he went against the ancestors. Azzalea meant more to him than his eternity.

Azzalea shook her head. "Whatever you think is best. I trust you." She turned her brown eyes up to his honey colored ones. "I have always trusted your decision."

River leaned down and planted a kiss on her lips. He looked over to the two humans who looked curious and confused. He closed his eyes and listened to his baby breathing from across the room. His halfling slept most of the time, but every once in a while he would wake up and the whole forest was sure to know it. He straightened his back and shot a look at Briar. "Ok."

Wade watched as the Bigfoot looked off into space. He knew his life was being debated at this very moment. He felt bad for the teenager, but Wade was ready to go. He saw the beasts with his own eyes. He felt the giant paws of the creature on him several times and he now sat in their living space. The creature locked eyes with him and put his hand on his chest. Wade watched as it pulled at his fur. It looked unnatural as he pulled it farther from his own body. "What the fuck are you doing?" Wade had to look away. If this animal was going to skin himself, he was going to be sick.

"Wade... Wade... Look."

Blake's urging made him peek his eyes open. There stood before him was not the same creature that had managed to keep this cave sealed off, that had knocked him out in one blow, that had murdered multiple men in one swipe. What stood before him now was a giant man. A ginormous man. Wade watched him comb his hair back and his beard out. What was once a beast, now had a braided ponytail and beard.

"Wow."

Wade nodded in agreement with Blake. He looked behind them as the other Bigfoot did the same. He became another giant man. He looked to Azzalea as she handed him a plate of cooked meat. "What?"

Azzalea chuckled softly. . "Sasquatches aren't real Wade, but Giants," She paused and looked to the younger one with a smile, "Giants are real."

~~~~~
River picked up his son and rocked him around the cave. The tiny halfling opened his blue eyes a tiny bit and peered at him from behind his sleepy eyelids. "Hello Creek." The tiny male closed his eyes back. River looked over to Azzalea, beaming. "I'm sure he just said hello to me."
Azzalea adjusted herself back in their love nest. She couldn't help but smile at her mate as he cooed over their baby. River had been so helpful to her. It had only been two days, but he kept her as comfortable as possible. He cleaned her often, insisted on washing the soiled diapers and her makeshift pads, and if he could start lactating, Azzalea was sure he would feed Creek as well, while she just laid on the mounds of pillows he made for her.
River set his precious bundle back in his bassinet and looked to Azzalea as he shucked his leg coverings off. He couldn't help, but find himself growing hard looking at her. She looked so warm and soft in their blankets. Her breasts were exposed and plump. He looked at her face as she giggled and looked away shyly. "Why do you look away from me?" River asked and moved gracefully to the bed.
"I can't believe after all the stuff that has happened in the past couple of days, you still get hard looking at me."
River thrusted himself forward. "Harder than the hardest stone."
Azzalea put her hand on his chest. "You're amazing."
"Not as amazing as you, my Fawn." River purred in her ear and licked at her earlobe. He couldn't help but reach and pluck at her tender nipple. "You are doing so amazing. You are a great Mother."
"I couldn't do it without you." Azzalea said and caught his lips in hers. Their tongues danced for a moment. "You just wait till I'm healed up."
River gave her a sexy Viking smile. "I can't wait." He chuckled.
The night had been awful. River didn't like killing things unless absolutely necessary, but Randy had to go. He felt no remorse. River never thought he ever would. Briar had killed the others and didn't agree with them keeping Wade and Blake.
River laid back on his arm as Azzalea stroked his chest. Azzalea had spoken to them in her language and River wasn't sure exactly what she said, but Wade had grown more curious and Blake's fear started to fade. It was then, River could place his scent.
Azzalea had communicated that River had purposely let Wade live. Wade said he had understood his family was trespassing and no longer had hard feelings.
Wade was extremely curious and continued to ask questions, but River had enough. It was nearing daybreak. Briar had excused himself to go dispose of the bodies that were not far from the cave.
River noticed Azzalea's exhausted face. That's when he called it. He took the two male humans back to the cave with the pond and sealed them inside. They had enough wood to keep a fire going, they had eaten, and River knew they would be fine. After Briar had left, he washed himself and then Azzalea.
Azzalea fed Creek and River rocked him to sleep.
Now as he and his mate cuddled together, River found peace once again.
