My heart felt oddly numb and I wasn't quite sure why I couldn't breathe right. The warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach was there, though the happy bubble it had formed around me was long gone. I wanted it back! Putting the flask to my lips a second time, I downed the rest of its contents.

My body was on fire.

I stuck my lower lip out, giggling because it felt fat and plump. Flicking my finger across it, I laughed even harder. It made funny bubbly sounds. I liked funny bubbly sounds. I think.

"Mara?" Some deep voice was saying my name, so I turned in a sharp circle. I couldn't find out who it was, so I turned in another circle, and then another and another. Soon, I was so dizzy with giggles I toppled on the floor, my red dress resembling a pool of blood around me.

Blood was funny. It was sticky and wet. I liked blood. It was pretty too. It looked like rubies. This time I howled with laughter, golden tears running from my eyes and making soft hissing sounds when they made contact with my blood/ruby dress. I sniggled at the hissing sounds, trying to imitate it by pushing air in between my teeth.

"Mara."

There was that deep voice again! Where was it coming from?

Something waved in front of my face, and I nipped at it with my teeth. I bit into something soft, and a warm, coppery liquid assaulted my taste buds. Blood! More blood! I shrieked with laugher. I liked blood. Blood tasted funny.

"Ow! Son of a- Jesus Mara, what's gotten into you?"

A man stood in front of me, holding his hand to his mouth and sucking. His teeth were pink when he pulled his bleeding palm away away from his lips. He looked nice, apart from the pink teeth. He had blonde hair and blue eyes and big soft lips that I really wanted to kiss. To bad he had pink teeth.

The man grabbed my shoulders and leaned close to my face, his breath smelling of peppermint. He shook me so hard my teeth rattled in my skull. "Mara! What the hell is wrong with you? What did you take?"

I stuck my finger out and touched his lips, parting them to look at his teeth. "Pink teeth," I giggled.

He reached down and tried to take the flask from my hand but I snapped my arm back. A heat, different from the one radiating from my tummy, sizzled in my fingertips where his skin had skimmed mine. "Who are you?" He looked familiar.

"Are you bloody kidding me right now?"

I snickered. Was I?

His movements were as fast as lightning. The man with the pink teeth and blue eyes jerked the flask from my fingers, bringing it up to his nose, flexing his nostrils and inhaling deeply. He sighed and hung his head. "Oh god. Really? Ambrosia? That's what Asmodeus gave you?" He glanced down and shook the small metal container, listening for small sounds of liquid hitting the sides. "And you drank the whole thing! Jesus Christ!"

I smirked at his panicked expression, but frowned when I realized his teeth weren't pink anymore. I knew who he was! His name started with a C...

"Charles."

He glared at me. "Well good. You at least know who I am now. How stupid are you? Drinking a whole flask of Ambrosia... Stupid, stupid stupidstupidstupid."

I stared at his angry expression, memorizing the hard lines of his jaw and the way his lips were pressed into a thin white line. He looked like an angel, with his blonde hair and blue eyes.

"You're beautiful," I stuttered.

His eyes met mine and the hard lines of his face softened. "You're not bad yourself."
