After that dreadful night last Saturday with my dad, everything seemed coming back to normal again. I still go to school just like the past weeks. But I know that it will change soon, I don't know how should I spend my future Saturday's now. I still haven't told my friends that I'm leaving the formation, I think I just need a perfect timing to say it with a perfect alibi as well. I don't think it was a best idea to tell the truth.

"Hey, Kevin! You're zoning out again!" Maica yelled beside me making me to stare at her.

We were at the mall and we will eat here, this has really become a routine for us now.

"Sorry, what was your question again?" I asked as we stepped out from the escalator.

"Maica was suggesting that if maybe we could stay longer here." Gale sipped the milk tea from her hand. She was drinking it from the campus and she still has not emptied it.

"What about Mrs. Mission? She will gives us a short quiz this afternoon." I furrowed.

Maica rolled her eyes at me.

"Did you check the Group Chat girl?"

"I haven't." I shrugged.

"Mayor Arthur chatted that Mrs. Mission cannot see us because she's looking up for her sick daughter," Abby said as she and Maica clapped their hands joyfully.

"Why are you so happy? Is that a good thing?"

I wasn't so sure if I missed something on what she said, that they were rejoicing now with our teacher's situation.

"Aren't you happy that we have extra time?" Maica nudged my arm.

"I am, but---"

"Hush," she said, putting her index finger in her lips. She stared at me intensely, "Do not ruin the moment." She mimicked maleficent.

I chuckled, "Okay, okay. I get it, silly."

I pushed their backs as we stepped on the last escalator up to the 5th floor.

We have ordered our food now and we have decided to get our mango shake. We were holding the line as Maica rummaged the insides of her wallet. She was looking for a penny because she doesn't want to spend her bill, she highly believed that she will spend the rest of it immediately if she does.

"Let me help you." I grabbed the wallet from her and carefully checked every pocket inside it.

"Why do you have napkins from McDonald's?" I asked dumbfounded, lifting the folded paper from her wallet.

"Because it's free, Kevin. Stop talking and just look for my penny okay?" she said as she also busied her in her bag.

"Miss, if you're looking up for a penny, I can let your borrow mine---" I've heard the guy from our back butted in our conversation.

"I don't need your help. I'm not broke. So mind your own business," she snarled to the poor guy.

He was taken aback by Maica's reaction. Looking at his ID, I can tell he was still at senior high school.

"Oh, that is very gentleman of you to do that. SHE DEFINTELY NEEDS THAT." Furious Abby was eyeing her dangerously.

"Of course not---" Maica did not finish her sentence when Abby grabbed the penny from the astonished guy's hand and put it on the counter.

Abby dragged her to our table, leaving me alone awkwardly with the guy. I quickly convene our shakes in the tray in my hand. But before I left, I stared back at him.

"Thank you!" I mouthed, beaming at him.

"Why do you have to do that?" Maica whined in her seat as I placed our orders on the plastic wooden table.

"Because you're taking up so long for a penny, Maica. We were holding the line and thankfully, there was a courageous guy to lend you a penny. It was just a penny, so don't make it a big deal."

"I'm not." Maica slammed her hands on the table.

Abby and I stared at her saying, 'yes you are' look.

"Okay, I'm definitely making it a big deal. Give me my wallet Kevin, I'll treat you guys some snacks later, just to prove to you that I have money."

We both rolled our eyes at her. This was what I noticed with Maica. She always cares for her social status, she always think about what the others might think on her. Maica was from a middle class family, her parents were overseas Filipino workers at Saudi Arabia, I remember she told us that her parents send her money every month for her schooling so she definitely do not runs out of money.

"Here you go." I handed her purple wallet but before she can grabbed it, something fell to the floor.

It was a small square sachet of something. I picked it up.

"What is this?" I asked, scrutinizing the item.

I squeezed it with my fingers and I could feel something elastic was inside it. I noticed that there was a small circle bumping around it.

Is this a rubber band?

I stared at Maica and I saw her tomato face, her mouth was ajar. Abby stood up from her seat and stole the item from my hand.

"Is this a condom?" Abby asked as she scrutinized the item.

She was inspecting from its back and front, but there was nothing to see since it was just a plain silver sachet.

"N-no it's not. Give me that." Maica grabbed it away from Abby and roamed her gaze to our surrounding.

"Girl, it's a condom." Abby told me.

"Really? Let me see, I only see them in my science books."

"I said, it's not Kevin." She hid the item under her lap.

"Why do you have that anyways?" Abby questioned, staring back at her.

"Shhh! Lower your voice!" She semi-yelled with full of concentration. "How can you say that this is a condom? Have you seen one?" She gritted her teeth as she glared at Abby.

Abby's cheeks started to heat up.

"Y-yes, I saw that in movies," she answered skeptically. "And if you still insist that it's not, then what it is?" she challenged.

"I-it's, it's a lucky charm---yes! it's a lucky charm---for my wallet."

"What does it do?" I asked curiously.

"I-it will keep you safe? and protected from any danger. Yeah! That's it. It also helps you secure from any diseases."

"You mean STD's." Abby snorted.

Maica glared at her and stared back at me. She leaned closer to my side.

"Do you want one?" she whispered.

I eagerly nodded.
