"Everyone out."
I shuddered at his command. I'd rather leave too if I may. Can I go outside with Felix and Lily? Ugh. I don't think I'm on that exit list...
But Felix and Lily didn't budge.
"Princess, if you ask me to stay here, I won't go."
"I'll be here, too."
Oh, Felix and Lily were very determined! They looked at me with resolve in their eyes while they said that. I was moved by their countenance, while Claude scowled and raised his voice again.
"Would you believe me if I swore I won't kill you?"
I stared curiously at Claude for a moment, then talked to Lily and Felix who were next to me.
"I'm fine. If I think I'm going to die, I'll scream."
Uh, well. That's kind of a weird thing to say. But they left the room only after confirming several times that I will really be okay.
Finally, Claude and I were left alone in the room where the magic circle was drawn.
With a scowl on his face, Claude pulled himself out of his chair, feeling very displeased with the current situation.
Stepping back from him, I said, "uh, it's better if you don't come too close."
He paused. At that moment, the mood between us changed. I watched as his eyes carry an indescribable emotion.
T, that's weird.
Obviously, the person in front of me is still as indifferently cold as before. So why does it feel like I'm seeing an abandoned dog?
Claude stopped when I refused and did not take another step. An uncomfortable silence hung between us.
Eventually, he slowly parted his tight lips and let out a gentle voice.
"How have you been?"

I rolled my eyes to the side and stuttered a reply, wondering if he ate something wrong. His words were more surprising than expected, and I felt awkward.
