We arrive at my house and the smile on my face simply wont go away. He confessed his love for me (not that I didn't already know) and told me how much I meant to him. And the tower, and the message....it was all just perfect. We walk in and greet my mom, and I told her all about it. (Except for the nitty gritty details that no one wants to tell their mother). She takes me upstairs and gets me ready for the dance. She helps me with my dress, which is a pretty, light shade of pink with a sweetheart neckline and ends at the knees. Mage curls my hair, and puts mascara, light pink eyeshadow, and a light dose of eyeliner. When we finish, we step back from the mirror and admire our handiwork. I look good. Then I add pink sandals with 2 inch heels. Helen goes downstairs before me to see if Peter is finished and if he needs help. I hear her gasp, he must look good too. As I walk down the stairs, I barely contain my excitement. When I reach the bottom I'm greeted by Peter's steady supporting arm. I turn and gasp at what I see. Peter has cleaned up nicely, he took a shower and blow dried his hair. He's wearing a matching light pink tuxedo with a white undershirt and a red tie. His hair is a tidier version of his normal hairdo, the hair to one side and slightly upwards. He's wearing light pink pants completed with black dress shoes and has a corsage in his hand. He puts the corsage on my wrist (it's a wrist corsage) and smiles at me. "Gwen, you look beautiful." "Thank you. You look handsome too." I say, and he does. My mom hands me a single red rose which I place on Peters chest as his corsage. My mother is dressed in a red dress, flowing all the way to her feet. She's wearing a pearl necklace and her hair is down. "So, let's get going!" I say and we head out to the car. After a 20 minute drive, we arrive to a nice looking building. Other couples are arriving and we enter the lobby. The floors are white marble and you can hear music coming from the ballroom. We enter to find many couples and people dancing. At one end is a bar, and at the other is pool games and poker. The center is the dance floor, the dj in the middle. They're playing stereo hearts, and I drag Peter with me. "Come on Pete! We got to dance to this one!" I plead. "Okay, fine. I'm coming." He says, smiling. We walk through the people and find a secluded part of the dance floor. We dance together, freestyle dancing and singing along. Then a slow song comes on and the dj says "okay, ladies and gentlemen. Grab you're significant other and we're going to take it down a notch. After, all, it's Valentines Day. And with that, he begins to play "you lift me up" by The Afters. Peter pulls me close and wraps his arms around my waist. I wrap my arms around his neck and lean my head against his chest. We slowly tiptoes in a circle, both embracing each other and listening to the music. "You lift me up, when I am weak. Your arms, wrap around me." After the next few lyrics, the song ends. Me and Peter realize we were the only couple left out on the dance floor and we blush. As we walk off to take a break, the crowd begins to clap. I excuse myself and head to the bathroom. A few minutes later I come back and find Peter drinking water against a wall, ignoring this girl who's obviously trying to get his attention. Immediately, I get mad. This girl clearly can see that he has no intention of acknowledging her but is throwing herself at him anyway. I walk over and Peter's eyes light up when he sees me. He sends me a "please help me!" Look an I send him a look that says "don't worry, I got this. I'm not mad at you." "Hi." I say to the girl as I approach. "Hi! What are you doing here?" She says cheerfully enough. "Oh, I'm just here to dance with my boyfriend." I say casually. She snorts. "Oh yeah? And who would that be?" "This guy right here." I tell her and point to Peter. "Wow, what a lie! That's a good one! Why would this hottie here ever go out with you? Oh that was funny." She says and cracks up. I look at Peter and raise an eyebrow. He clears his throat. "Well, 'this hottie' is dating her, so to answer your question about if I was single? No. I am not. I have the best girlfriend a guy could have." He says and he pulls me close and kisses me. I eagerly kiss back, and we don't stop until she leaves. "Thanks big boy." I whisper in his ear. "No problem." He whispers back. After a few more hours of dancing, we decide to go back to my house and change back to casual clothing.
