I check my phone to see a new message from huey

'hurry up , i'm outside..'

I didn't know he would be here that fast , i shrugged walking downstairs
making sure to put my book bag straps on my shoulders tightly

i opened the door to see a rather annoyed huey , i chuckle to myself as i close the door behind me

"what took you so long?" he asks as we begin walking

"girl stuff you wouldn't understanddd!" i tease knowing i was watching TV

"sure."

The fact that he knows i'm lying bothers me very much

"are your..friends coming?" he asks scrunching up his face at the thought of them

"Yes they are , i never understood your problem with them."

he rolls his eyes and groans "could it be just us this time."

"but all of you guys are my friends huey."
i watch as he stuffed his hands in his pocket

"frien- ...okay y/n" he sighed

"is that them!" i yell as i seen a group of girls walking towards us

"oh god.." huey mumbled as he stepped behind me

"hey girl." leslie said as she approached us

"heyy , wait y'all walking together and decided to not invite me?" i cross my arms pretending to me mad

"noo of course not we was going to get you." jayla says turing around to face the direction of the school

"looks like you had other plans though." leslie points to huey

i roll my eyes "you guys know huey always walks me to school."

"mhm , anyways hi huey." jayla says

i turn to huey and he looks at me , i squint at him to signal for him to say something since he'd usually ignore my friends

he sighed , rubbing his neck "hey.."

"someone's grumpy.." jayla mumbled causing us to giggle

"i heard there was going to be a new student today!" leslie says smiling

"wait really?" i ask

she nods her head and turns around to face me , now walking backwards "i hope it's a boy."

"sameee , he better be fine too i need a man." jayla says

i chuckle at her choice of words

"a new friend would be nice..?" i mumble

"i should've walked with riley.." i hear huey mumble but i ignore it

"actually, if it's a boy i'm going to leave him all to you girl , you need a boyfriend of all people."

"Me?" i ask

she nods her head vigorously like it was obvious

"well.. i guess?" i shrugged it off as we finally approached the school

i grab all my books that i take to classes , i grab my book bag placing it into my locker , then closing it

"everyone's talking about the new kid." huey speaks up as he grabs my books like always

i chuckle and nod "i heard it's definitely a boy.."

he stays silent while we continue to walk to class

we both walk into the class to see it was full of students already

"oh.. are we late?"
i ask and he shakes his head no looking at his phone "right on time actually."

"oh their, probably excited to see the new boy."

"Over here!" leslie and jayla calls me over

i grab my books from huey "i'll see you at lunch?" i ask

he nods his head and leaves the room since we didn't have the same class
but he always made sure i made it to class on time

i sit down next to jayla and leslie and wait for the teacher, soon he came in announcing that the new student will come and introduce himself

"is that him?" jayla pointed out a boy walking into class with a all white outfit
curly hair and half circle glasses
from a mile away you could see his light brown eyes and tan complexion

he walks in front of class scanning the room , you could tell he was nervous but i don't blame him
