I never told you,
How I really feel,
I never told you,
What I really need,
I never told you,
Why you were perfect.
All I wanted then and now,
Was your heart,
All I wanted,
Was your love,
But that was all before,
Before I knew the destruction,
My love would bring for us.
Selfish wants and needs,
Unable to discern between the two,
Thrust us far into this abyss,
Total darkness,
And no way out.
The blindness of the heart,
Leading me to follow the music,
Searching for my red string,
I grab it and follow,
Hoping it leads to you.
Who knew,
My path ended in circles,
While you escaped the nightmare,
I stood alone
Unaware of the repercussions,
Looming in the shadows.
