Chapter 10

Alice's POV

The next day was soon upon us and we had called another pack meeting. This time though, we only called the Red Moon pack. We were going to show them around the pack territory.

We first led them around all the surrounding pack houses and introduced them to the Alpha-Minor, which took care of everyone that lived in that house. Star cleared up the fact that since they were just visitors, William was still their Alpha and they didn't need an Alpha-Minor.

Our second destination was the dining hall. Many of the older teens had watched either Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, so they wanted something like that. We decided on the dining hall being more like Harry Potter, but sill included a Percy Jackson-like theme. The roof reached up so that it blinded you to look at the golden wolf figure at the top when it was around noon. The tables were set up in rows, but each line was for a separate house. The main pack house took up three of the tables. At the front, a really long table was set up on a raised platform. There was were the Alpha-Minors, Betas, Trainers, and I sat. Some of the wolves that were part of my large pack were already there eating, although there were still a couple hours before lunch time. I shook my head and laughed as they jokingly looked at me with scared expressions and arms full of food.

The next stop was the forge. We made our own weapons, which we were quite proud of. Our weapons were specialized to each person's skill and opinions. We had long bows and catapults that were resting in the back of the room. Standard bows and arrows were hung on the wall. Right beside them were thousands of other bows and arrows, each one different from the next. These were the preferred bows of our pack members. Swords and daggers rested on the countertop. The ones that were out were the standard. Specialized daggers were kept on you at all times while sword were stored in the cupboard. Javelins, both specialized and standard, were set against the wall parallel to the bows and arrows. The ones mentioned were just the commonly used ones. Our army were trained to be able to pick up any weapon if they were to lose theirs. The forge was filled with more weapons than needed for this very reason. We had every weapon available and some were even weapons we invented ourselves. We trained with these but never had to use them.

We then ushered them to the learning center. This building had 7 floors and an East and a West wing. Each floor contained at least 50 classrooms; each used to educate students in different areas. One classroom might be for learning how to forge a dagger while the one right beside was to find the cracks in armor and actually harm your opponent.

The area we were going to show them was the training field. There, we had a smaller version of the forge set up so we could store weapons. The blades were dull so that there would be no beheading or accidental magic shows. We set is up in a clearing where we would be able to see the sunset and well as the waterfall that flowed in my territory. Warriors were sparring and lunging at the other. Their movements were blurs as the fought. The Red Moon pack watched in awe as they blocked each other like it was breathing. Their expressions were unreadable, which is what we trained them to do when in battle. It helped when the opponent didn't know what you were thinking. We sat and watched them for a little bit before one of the top warriors approached us.

"Mark, how has your training been?" I questioned politely.

He smiled before answering with an "Okay".

I smirked when he handed me my silver and golden blade handle. The blade was covered with a thick covering that prevented it from actually cutting anything. This blade was my treasure. It has been known to cut open the weaker armor and scratch or dent even the strongest ones.

The Red Moon pack looked frightened as we took our fighting stances. Mark has never been able to defeat me with a sword or dagger. He came close with long ranged weapons, but I always managed to dodge them at the last second. Alpha William looked worried as he watched.

'Show him how strong you are!' encouraged Star. I nodded before I focused once again on Mark. I lunged at me and our fight started. Our blades flashed and they were swung around. We were unaware of the sudden silence in the meadow as my pack joined to watch our battle. The two of us spat playful words at each other.

"Looks like their cheering for me to win!" Mark smirked at me.

"Sorry, but that's not going to happen. We both know that I could beat you any day." I laughed as he scowled.

Mark and I danced around the crowd. My pack knew that he was the only one that has ever come close to beating me, so it was entertaining for them to watch when I popped his dreams of beating me. The Red Moon pack was barely able to keep up with our movements.

The battle ended when Mark lunged for my sword arm. I threw the blade into my other hand at the last second and used my now free hand to draw my dagger. It was sheathed so I didn't have to worry about harming Mark. My arm that had the sword also held him in a headlock as I pressed my covered dagger to his neck.

He sighed in disappointment as I released him.

"I can't ever win. Why don't you just go easy on me, like you do when fighting the others?"

"You'll never get better that way. Your already inflated ego would just explode and what then?"

He playfully glared at me. "I better get back to training with the others then. I will beat you one day, Alice!"

"I'll be waiting for the day. I'll remember to ask someone to announce that even as corpses, you'll never be able to beat me!" I smiled at him before shooing him and the others away.

'Wow, their expressions are priceless!' Star exclaimed.

Andrew nodded and William's pack probably assumed that we were talking in the mind link.

"If you guys would mind, it's getting late and I'm pretty sure that everyone wants to sleep now." I announced to the wolves standing in front of me. They grumbled, showing their reluctance to leave. They shuffled away after I requested someone to guide them back to their house. They all left, except for William.

I sighed. Out of all wolves, he stays. At least Star and Andrew stood by my side. "Do you need anything, Alpha William?" he winced at the way I was addressing him.

"I just want to talk"

I motioned for him to speak.

"Alone"

I hesitated. Alone. When I was in their pack before, alone always meant beatings. But I doubted that's what he wanted. He saw me beat the little slut in mere seconds. I nodded slowly and motioned for Star and Andrew to leave. They looked at William suspiciously, as though he was going to kidnap me or something. I don't think he'd be able to do it alone. Maybe with two packs at his command, but not alone.

A private conversation with my mate that rejected me. I wonder how this is going to turn out....
