Backstory: Adriana is the second youngest daughter of Agustín and Julieta, and the fourth child in the Madrigals' third generation. According to Madrigal family legend, she was granted hydrokinesis as a gift when she was five years old. This has shown to be effective when there is a lack of water supply. Adriana could use her gift to summon water in any of its three forms. She can also change the size of the element, from tiny drops to big waves to towering spirals, and walk on the surface of bodies of water such as lakes and rivers. She is really fond of children. Adriana would devote the majority of her focus on comforting and encouraging her younger sister after Mirabel did not receive a gift, despite Alma's repeated requests for her to go aid the citizens. She is also quite close to her uncle Bruno and frequently wonders where he vanished at Mirabel's gift ceremony. She would also become enraged when people made disparaging remarks about her uncle and his visions, and she even nearly flooded the town because someone was insulting Bruno.

- When the first letter of her given name (Adriana) is coupled with those of her sisters (Mirabel, Isabela, and Luisa, in that order), they make the first four letters of 'milagro', the Spanish word for 'miracle.'

- Adriana is particularly the closest to Mirabel, Camilo, and Antonio as all four of them are the only third-generation Madrigals who are minors.

- Besides it being connected to her gift, the other reason why Adriana's room looks like a beach is because she loves to listen to the relaxing sound of ocean waves crashing on the shoreline.

- Adriana adopted Helena 2 years before the start of the film. This cat appears not to be afraid of water as she never hesitates to get in a washtub whenever Adriana gives her a bath.
