"You're telling me that you want us to fake date in order to win your ex-girlfriend back, who happens to be dating my ex-boyfriend, who also happens to be your brother?" I ask, appalled.

Wyatt nods, sticking out his hand for me to shake. "Do we have a deal?"

As crazy as this sounds and as much as I want to run away from this whole situation, I reluctantly grab his hand, giving it a firm shake.

This is going to be one hell of a ride.

BOOK TWO IN THE LOVER SERIES

Delainey Lockheart - a girl who's always been overshadowed by her brother and who wants nothing but to get through her junior year unscathed

Wyatt James - West Point High's star quarterback who's destined for greatness as he's bound to be a college athlete

What do these two have in common? Heartbreak.

Delainey's long time situation, Asher, dumps her after their short-lived summer fling, while Alison, Wyatt's long-term girlfriend, dumps him in the beginning of football season.

Both are heartbroken... until both of them realize that Alison and Asher, Wyatt's step-brother, are now together.

Appalled and upset, Wyatt decides to strike up a deal with Delainey.

They fake date.

They both pretend that they're dating each other in order to make Alison and Asher jealous. That way, everything goes back to normal, and they both get what they want.

What could possibly go wrong?

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. "I'm sorry that I put you in this situation." "I'm not following." I really wasn't. "This. Us! What we did last night was reckless and so so perfect at the same time." He got up and walked over to me. "All I could think about was the look on your face. I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about the feel of your skin against mine." He came closer and now he was a breath away. "What are you saying?" I whispered. "I don't know." "I thought you didn't do girlfriends." "I don't." And just like that our lips met and the fire ignited within me again. _________________ You must think this is your typical love story with it's sickly sweet characters who slowly fall in love. In some aspects it is actually and in others it's the total opposite. This is the story of how Kate Reynolds fought to keep her broken family together as well as trying to manage her fast, wild and explosive love life. A modern, coming of age story of how an ordinary girl experiences all that she shouldn't and out of trying to fix everyone else, she tries to fix herself.
