Billie Joe and Stephanie have been best friends since middle school. They've been through everything together, including a passionate, yet short-lived romance. Stephanie doesn't know, but Billie racks his brain every day about what he could have done differently to make their love work. Billie doesn't know that Stephanie still has feelings for him and that if she could, she would change how things ended between them in a heartbeat. A lot of time has passed and they've since put out the flames of their past romance out of respect for their friendship - something they are not willing to risk losing. Will their friendship be affected now that they're older and Billie Joe has earned global popularity with the success of his band, Green Day? And when Stephanie falls victim to a once-in-a-lifetime kind of heartache, how will Billie respond? Only one thing is for certain: neither Stephanie or Billie will ever be the same.

This story is based off of some of my personal experiences. There will be real-life elements in it including bits and pieces of Green Day's history, but some elements will be made up as well to enhance the creativity of the story. I hope you all enjoy!
