In any other situation they might fall in love, and the popular girl may get teased or bullied about the relationship probably even lose her school popularity, but in the end they would lead a happily ever after. Unfortunately, Claire's in a situation that's a little - and by little I mean a lot - more complex then that. Claire wouldn't mind the teasing if it meant she could date her crush that she's had for years, she wouldn't even mind losing her crown of popularity. Unfortunately that's not the only thing keeping her from telling Jason 'Jace' Williams how she feels about him. She's spent the past several years taking her frustrations and anger out on him, and to keep her, "don't mess with me, or you'll regret it," reputation she's been picking on him since her first year of high school. Claire seriously doubts that Jace could reciprocate her feelings for him, but what will she do when Jace sees her art journal with several drawings and pictures of him in it? Will Claire confess her feelings toward him or will she deny them and come up with a scenario that gets her out of the mess and lets her spend time with Jace. The answer is the latter.

But when he misses a test that guarantees him entrance to a top scale internship, he has to tutor the daughter of the business tycoon- Circe Dillon Lux. Knowing and believing every rumour about the apparently idiotic and lazy girl, he dreads the prospects of teaching such a dunce. Circe doesn't need him- but he needs her. And Circe was never one to care.
