Quite a few people undergo an extreme form of suffering. This need not be their doing. Imagine a child born to a mother, who's a drug addict. Born out of wedlock, this child remains fatherless. He could then be put to untold sufferings by the mother and her various boyfriends. This child did not choose to be born into that horrible home, so the suffering experienced is not the fault of this child. If this child matures into a young person in this horrendous environment, and if this young person dies a violent death because of his wrong decisions, we need to ask two questions: (1) Would this teenager go to heaven? (2) Would heaven compensate for the untold suffering experienced by this teenager? If so, how? Read more...

We were not only shocked to see the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral engulfed in flames, but we were also shocked to see the speed at which donors pledged money to rebuild this cathedral. The frenzied response of the donors to the rebuilding of Notre Dame has ignited anger towards God in the minds of some who seek the truth amidst the multitude of hypocrisies in this world. The question they ask is this, 'Why does God allow a quick rebuilding of an iconic structure rather than alleviating poverty?' Read more...

This is my 200th blog. Our gracious God has enabled me to write every week since January 14, 2013. Since I am continuing to learn much during this period, please permit me to share my most significant learning. There are [extended] periods in our lives when God allows us to live through excruciatingly painful moments that the Bible terms as the "valley of shadow of death" (Psalm 23: 4, NASB). During these painful moments we wonder if God exists and if so, why HE allows evil upon us. We are not perfect. We are sinners. Read more on...

If atheism is a legitimate worldview as it claims to be, then it has to offer meaningful and valuable comfort and encouragement to those in pain. But does atheism offer comfort to those in pain? Read more...

The question, "Would there be less evil in a world without Satan?" could be relevant, for if the answer to this question is a yes, then we could plausibly ask, "Why did God create angels i.e. Satan, if evil in this world would be lesser without Satan?" Within this context, if God had not created Satan, evil would have been less, and our world would have been a good world. Read more...

God should care and protect those who love, obey and trust HIM. Hence we pray, "...protect us from the evil one." But there is untold evil in some Christian homes. So it's quite evident that God does not protect those who only trust HIM for protection. Therefore, an objection against God is, why shouldn't HE be punished? If you merely claim that God cannot or should not be punished, you are positing a dictator God, not a 'just' God. So how do we respond to this objection against God? Read more...
