These are a series of poems in Damara -Nama Gowab also known as Khoekhoegowab. This language is spoken by the Damara people of Namibia, a Southern African country. The poems address day to day issues as well as the poets personal experiences and thoughts. The title of the book !Hanab translates as Plant, meaning this is the first work of writing of the poet and she has now planted her seed of writing, promising more works to come. This is a documentation of the language, a contribution of literature of the modern Damara language and tribe. *********** Nana Garises is a #Nukhoegowab Poet, Primary School Teacher and Visual Artist.

This piece of writing is inspired by a couple I over heard talking about their "situation-ship". What I over heard brought so many memories. She was putting herself in a vulnerable position to meet his needs. He was honest about his needs yet, not telling the whole picture. The truth is still the truth, whilst not telling the whole picture.

Mirabelle has always had insecurities over her shoulder stopping her from doing what her heart truly desired or what a teenager should do.
