but sunghoon? sunghoon laid at the hospital bed, far from getting his consciousness back.

so she locked herself in her room, never coming out.

gyuri laid on her bed, feeling nothing.
her parents kept knocking on the door but she didn't bother to stand.
"gyuri you haven't eaten for days, please come out at least today, it's your birthday." her mom begged.
no answer.
she heard her mom sigh and continued to talk. "i'll leave food here. please eat."
gyuri didn't listen, she continued to look at the ceiling.
"i became such a different person." she spoke.
"just months ago, i was this organized student. a perfectionist. always on time, never late and always ranked first,"
"but when you, park sunghoon, a childhood friend of mine came into the picture. you ruined my perfect life. now look, i brought your life to danger." she continued.
"i'm not ready to face you yet, but once you wake up, i'll be there."

december twenty-five, christmas.
a usual christmas night.
gyuri's family had a christmas event at their home and this time, she decided to go back to her normal self.
she kept sunghoon aside for now, and once again focused on her studies.
she escaped the dinner and went outside to watch the snow.
beomgyu was there. he promised to never leave gyuri's side until sunghoon gets better.
gyuri forgave him, he told her how hana sabotaged his mind into doing this, so she understood his reason.
plus, if it weren't for him, she could've died.
but even if she forgave him, the sadness inside her didn't fade away.

it's been a while since she last smiled.
but this time, beomgyu didn't force her to smile.
he let her be sad, sunghoon is a big part of her life so she has every right to be upset.
"look at those kids, having fun during a christmas night." gyuri chuckled watching the children have fun while playing with the snow.

exciting night for everyone.
normal night for gyuri.
while everyone was lighting up their fireworks for midnight, gyuri locked herself inside her room, studying.
she was serious about focusing this time.
sunghoon still hasn't woken up from the coma and gyuri was aware.
she just decided to not show the pain and kept it to herself.
12:00 AM.
"ah, happy new year." she said facing the tiny mirror.
"i wonder what are you doing in your deep sleep sunghoon."
"what are you dreaming of?"
"who are you dreaming of?"
"when will you wake up?"

march twenty, last day of first year.
as expected, she ranked first.
her entire family was happy about it, even her dad.
but gyuri didn't care.
it's been months, sunghoon still wasn't woken up.
she was sad about the idea, but what could she do? she wasn't a doctor. she couldn't even bring herself to see him.
yet sunghoon never left her mind.

gyuri watched her friends skate the rink.
she thought that maybe skating would bring her closer to sunghoon.
"come on gyuri, at least smile." seunghee said pinching her cheeks.
minji skated towards them nodding her head as well.
"i'm really trying to. but it's hard." she confessed.
"we know, but think of yourself too. we miss your smile." minji said patting her shoulder.
"he'll wake up soon, i know he will. sunghoon is a strong boy."
"yeah?"
"mhm."
gyuri felt a little bit better when her friends said that and started to skate much better.

gyuri once again entered her lonely plain bedroom. she walked towards the bathroom and took a long bath.
and as usual, her traumatic experience started haunting her again.
sunghoon fell down the cold floor.
gyuri worriedly ran to him and sunghoon rested his head on her lap.
"sunghoon, stay awake please. don't leave me like this." she cried.
"the ambulance is coming hang in there sunghoon." beomgyu mentioned.
the girl cried and cried.
she looked at the person who shot the boy and saw her worried as well.
minutes later, the ambulance came.
they took sunghoon from her and took him inside. gyuri was worried as heck that she even forgot that she was injured herself.
the next thing she knew, sunghoon was being brought to the emergency room.
gyuri sat at the bench, crying her eyes out.
she didn't know what to do. she blamed herself for letting her guard down when hana approached her that night.
speaking of the devil.
"gyuri."
this time, she couldn't handle her rage.
"what the fuck do you want now hana?!"
hana backed away a little from her.
gyuri took a deep breath and faced her much more maturely.
"look, all i need is your apology."
"apology?"
"yes. apologize to me and sunghoon."
"what the fuck are you saying? i'm not going to apologize to you. you don't deserve my apology."
gyuri unbelievably looked at her.
"i can't believe you. you could've killed sunghoon! you could've killed me you psycho!"
she glared at hana one last time.

she woke up from her slumber when she heard her phone buzzing.
she got out of her bath and answered the call.
"hello?"
"gyuri? this is mrs. park. sunghoon woke up!" she heard from the other line.
gyuri dropped her phone and ran outside her bathroom to get dressed.
she didn't even bother to pick an outfit, she went along with the first thing she could find and quickly went to the hospital where sunghoon was in.
right when she arrived, she ran to the room sunghoon was located in.
there, she saw sunghoon's mom standing outside his room.
she suddenly started to feel anxious.
i mean, the last time she saw him was quite a little long ago.
"go ahead gyuri." mrs. park said, bringing her in and closed the door to give them some privacy.
gyuri turned around and there he was.
his eyes were closed so she gently shook his hand which caused him to wake up.
"sunghoon? you're awake!"
sunghoon turned his head to the girl.
"who are you?"
