the three boys rushed to the school, chenle telling them what had happened, or at least what he knew.
'it happened so fast. that one guy, uh san? him and jaemin just started arguing out of nowhere and it led to him calling jaemin a cheater and whore because jaemin's obviously dating jeno but you're both getting extremely close with renjun and jaemin got mad and- oh my god.' chenle stopped abruptly once they ran through the school doors and could see the chaos happening in the hall.
san had jaemin pinned against a locker and was holding his collar firmly. he said something to jaemin with a sick grin and it obviously disturbed jaemin as he stared at the boy with a look of horror. it quickly changed to anger as he shoved the boy and swung at him.
all three boys were frozen with shock, unable to move. san dodged jaemin's fist and was quick to swing back. unfortunately jaemin wasn't as quick and san's fist made contact with his jaw, making him stumble back into the lockers. jeno was the first to snap back to reality and he quickly ran to his boyfriend. san was approaching him, clearly ready to hit him again. jeno quickly stepped between them and caught san's fist right as he swung. he threw san's fist back, making him stumble.
san looked at jeno with a shocked expression before it was replaced with amusement. he scoffed and looked at the students that had surrounded them with cameras and excited but nervous looks in their eyes.
'so the boyfriend's here, what about the side chick?' san's eyes flickered to the side where renjun and chenle were standing. renjun gulped once san made eye contact with him and he cursed himself for being a coward.
'ah, there he is.' san kept his eyes on renjun. jeno and jaemin followed his gaze and once they realized who he was talking about, they saw red.
jaemin pushed past jeno harshly, going for san. he was stopped by a hand around his wrist and looked back to jeno. 'jeno, let go. i'm going to fucking ruin him.'
renjun didn't like the look in jaemin's eyes and he stepped closer to chenle, holding his hand. he was so used to the soft, caring side of jaemin. chenle saw how scared the shorter was and ruffled his hair, telling him it would be okay. jeno glanced at the best friends and looked back to jaemin, nodding towards their crush.
'go to him, he doesn't like seeing you like this.' jaemin turned his attention to renjun and immediately felt guilty once he saw the fear in his eyes. he nodded and jeno let go of his wrist. jaemin made his way to renjun and smiled softly. renjun stayed close to chenle and jaemin stopped in front of him.
'hey jun, i'm sorry. i didn't mean to scare you, he just said things that i didn't like.'
'what did he say?' chenle asked, his eyebrows furrowing. jaemin sighed and looked over his shoulder at his boyfriend, who was now squaring up to san. a punch was going to be thrown any minute now. jaemin turned back to the boys. 'i'll tell you later, right now san's about to get his ass beat.' jaemin moved beside renjun and smiled as renjun stepped away from his best friend and instead leaned into jaemin's side, holding his hand. jaemin wrapped an arm around him, wanting him to feel as safe as possible, and it worked.
'it's a pity you didn't hear the things i said to jaemin just before you arrived, i would've loved to see the look on your face.' san laughed, eyeing jeno as he visibly got more and more frustrated by the second.
'choi, you can either walk away or i can make sure you never talk about anybody i care about again. your choice, choose wisely.' jeno clenched his fist as san smiled and looked up as if he was thinking about it.
'you know it's really cute that you think you can-' san was cut off as jeno hit him square in the jaw, tired of the other's voice. renjun flinched and wrapped his arms around jaemin's waist, burying his face in the taller's face. jaemin ran a hand through his hair and kissed his forehead as chenle watched the two with a smile.
san was quick to recover as he kicked jeno, causing him to stumble and trip on to the floor. the students around them stepped back, none of them wanting to get in the way. san walked over to the brunette and straddled him, throwing more punches. jeno blocked most of them and once he got the opportunity, he hit the older as hard as he could. san groaned and fell off of the other, wiping the blood from his mouth. renjun closed his eyes tightly as he heard the commotion in the background. jaemin continued to play with his hair, now whispering reassuring things in his ear.
jeno was quick to throw more punches while san was distracted and soon enough the boy stopped fighting back, too exhausted. jeno scoffed and got off of him, standing up and staring at him.
'don't try to act tough when it's clear you're pathetic.' jeno shook his head and walked towards his group of friends and boyfriend. the students quickly cleared out of the hall, all except for one.
'san, are you okay?' san opened his eyes as he tried to get his breath back. once he saw who it was, he groaned and forced himself to get up.
'just fuck off, wooyoung.'
