"JJ," Josie groaned and held her hands out to him
"Yes, baby?" He asked and walked over to her
"I wanna hug," she said still slightly tipsy
"Okay," he laughed and she wrapped her arms around his waist and placed her head on his chest
"You looked good in a tux" Josie said and turned her head to look at him
"And you look beautiful all the time," JJ smiled down and her
She turned her head back to avoid him seeing the blush that crept up her neck
"Josie, JJ! Get your asses over here!" John B yelled and they walked over hand in hand to the fire
"Hey, guys. So, like, my dads already gonna kill me. So what's this mandatory meeting about?" Pope said sitting down next to JJ and Josie
John B looked at JJ and fired finger guns at him and he looked over at Pope
"Might as well tell him, man, before we're gaffed," JJ said to John B
"Tell us what?" Josie asked looking between her brother and the blond
"You ready for this?" John B asked to the group
"Yeah." Kie answered after no body else did
"So, the gold never went down with the Royal Merchant-" John B started but Pope was quick to stop him
"Oh, my God. Here we go again with this." Pope said obviously annoyed
"No. All right, wait. Hear him out, all right?" JJ said looking at pope
"It's been here the whole time. It's in the Island" John b said with a smirk
"That doesn't make sense. It could get off the boat" Josie argued
"Seriously? Oh my, God" Kie said with a small chuckle
"I'd like to voice my skepticism" Pope said making Josie giggle
"I'm sure you would, Pope, but can I please present you with my evidence, Sir?" John B
said holding out an arm to him
"Proceed," Pope said waving him off
"Alright. So, in my backpack, I have a letter from Denmark Tanny," John B said holding up a folded piece of paper
"Who the hell's that?" Kie asked quickly
"Wait, wasn't he one of the slaves in the Merchant?!" Josie said a little too excitedly
"Ding ding ding!" John B said pointing to her and she did a small bow
"But here the kicker, he survived. Check this out," John B said and handed a paper to Kiara
"What?" Her and Kie said at the same time.
"Okay, slaves weren't mentioned as crew members on the ship, but dad, he found the complete manifest," John b said looking at pope
"Yeah, his big discovery. I would like to add, I helped with that," Josie said smiling widely
"I'm sure you did, jo" JJ said and pulled her into his side
"Whatever, so Tanny used the gold from the Merchant to buy his freedom." John b said and Kie whistled getting Josie attention and she passed her the letter
"This is kinda cool," Josie said running her finger along the paper. JJ snatched it from her hand and handed it to Pope causing her to hit his arm
"After that, he bought his farm. Drumroll, please, because that farm is..." John B started and Kie and Josie started slapping there knees to make a drum roll
"Tannyhill Plantation"
"Tannyhill?" Kie asked looking up at the boy
"Yeah. So after that, he used his money to free even more slaves, and then he sold a shit-ton of rice, which pissed off all the white planters, and then... they decide to lynch him," John B explained
"What does lynch mean?" Josie whispered up to JJ
"Kill," JJ answered without looking away from John B
"So the day they were coming to get him, he writes a letter to his son as a farewell, and in the last line of that letter, he leaves a coded message about where to find the gold," John B said and stepped closer to Kie
"Where?" Kiara whispered with a happy tone in her voice
"Harvest the wheat in parcel nine, near the water," John B said looking at all his friends
"What the fuck does wheat have to do with gold?" Josie asked not understanding the message
"Well, wheat is code for gold. Check this out. the gold is in Parcel nine, near the water," John B says and they all let out a chuckle of shock
"Holy shit," pope muttered
"All we need is an original survey map of the property, and we've found the gold!" John b says waving his hands around
"Okay this might have a small chance of being actually true." Pope says and JJ stood up rather quickly and walked over to John b
"I am a genius. Hey, whoa!" John b said as JJ picked him up close to the fire
"Hello! Fire! Fire! You're near the fire. You're gonna burn." John b said and JJ put him down
"I'm so proud of you right now," JJ said and held onto his friend
"Thank you. That's really sweet of you," John b said and cupped his face
"Okay, so guys, what's the plan?" Pope asked
"Good question. So, Sarah Cameron's coming tonight. She'll bring an original survey map-" John b stated to explain but Kie cut him off
"Wait, wait. Hold on. Sarah? Wh-why Sarah?" Kie asked looking at everyone
"This is gonna be good," JJ did taking off his hat to run his fingers through his hair
"Sarah, um, she- she got me into the archives in Chapel Hill yesterday, and that's where I got the letter." He tried to explain
"Lies" Josie mumbled in between coughs making her brother glare at her
"You were in Chapel Hill with Sarah Cameron?" Kie asked with an attitude
"Yeah, um-" John B started but the blond cut him off
"He was mackin' on her." JJ cut in
"I wasn't macking her," John B tried to deny
"That's not what she told me," Josie added with an amused look
"You talked to Sarah Cameron?" Kie asked almost yelled
"eh, and danced and had a few drinks. You know she's kinda sweet." Josie said completely forgetting the feud between the two girls
"What the hell, Josie?!" Kie yelled glaring at her
"I wasn't macking in her, okay? I was using her for access" John b said stopping the girls from arguing
"Oh, there was access, all right" JJ added making Josie snort
"Did you tell her about the treasure?" Kie yelled
"I was trying to get into the archives!" John B yelled trying to defend himself
"Is that a yes!?"
"I- I left out key details!"
"Yo, what? You let a Kook in on our secret? What about Pogue Lyfe! What about the T-shirt company, bro?!" Kiara ranted
"I was just using her for information."
"Oo, that's tuff," Josie added but JJ put his hand over her mouth causing her to shut up. She licked his hand making him groan and wipe it on his shirt and turned and smirked at him
"Why don't I believe you?" Kie said cocking her head to the side
"I'm trying to make us filthy rich here. Okay, so that we can pay off a boat, or- or uh... send you to autopsy school to study dead bodies. Look, you guys know me. Do I look like the type of person to fall for Sarah Cameron?" John b said and everyone looked at him
"Uh"
"Do you want us to answer that?"
"Yeah, kinda. And I mean, I'm your sister I would now,"
"Just- just stop." John b said annoyed with their answered
"Look, you don't know her yet. I do! You can't trust her!" Kie explained
"She was nice to me. I kinda like her" Josie added but JJ quickly tried to shut her up
"Stop shushing me," she said turning around to face the boy
"Then stop making comments that will make Kiara want to bitch slap you," JJ said and raised a brow
"She's not listening to me she too caught up with him" she said pointing to the other two arguing
"Jo, just shut up" JJ sighed annoyed with how pushy Josie was when she was tipsy. She always did what she wanted and argued when she was tipsy but the moment she was drunk it was like a switch flipped and she became happy and giddy.
"Make me, blondie" she smirked and rolled her eyes
JJ glanced over to the other three pogues who were in their own conversation. No one was looking so he leaned down connecting their lips making Josie gasp. Needless to say she pulled away silent
"What did she do to you, exactly?" JJ asked and wrapped his arms sound Joise's shoulders
"She's like a- like a spitting cobra. First she- she blinds you, then-" Kie said using aggressive hand motions
"This a bad analogy" pope cut her off
"How is that what she did to you?" josie asked and tilted her head
"Listen to me!" kie yelled and you could hear the pain in her voice "whatever we get, shes gonna try to take"

John B eventually got everyone in the van and was taking the gang to the Hawks Nest where they were meeting Sarah
"Sarah, we're comin!" Josie yelled with a laugh as pope opened the door
"Hit it, boys! Recon mission"
"Were goin!"
"Yo, uh... so, uh, i think i'm gonna do this one by myself... tonight," John B said stopping them before they got out of the van
"Really?" JJ asks sitting back and Kie has an annoyed expression on her face
"What?" John B asks
"Nothin, brother" JJ says and takes off his hat
"I dont wanna spook Sarah with the peanut gallery" John b says trying to defend himself again
"I just don't understand why were involving her at all," Kie says
"Kie, were not involving her, okay? Its- its just, uh, like a- a business meeting...thing" John B says trying to make Kie not as mad
Josie was sitting behind jj watching everything unfold
'You know what would be nice? Popcorn," Josie whispered to the blond
He let out a small laugh as Kiara and John continued arguing
"Look, once we get what we need we cut her loose, alright? Plus, we need the map," John B said still trying to plead his case
"Promise me nothings happening between you two," Kie said glaring at him
"Nothing is happening, Kie" john B said but you could tell it was sarcastic and he was saying it to annoy her
"I'm being serious." Kie said sternly
"Okay!"
"This isn't about you, and this isn't about us. This is about her. Dude, she's gonna get inside your head. Just promise me nothings happening between you guys," Kie pleaded
"I promise," John B said not looking away from Kie
"That was really believable"
"A hundred percent believable"
"Are you an actor?" The three sitting in the back commented
"Anyways, um.. I'm gonna take care of business." john B said after they called him out
"You're gonna take care of that business so well" jj commented and josie slapped the back of his head
"Well just sit here...in the hot ass car... while it lightning" Pope said as John B opened his car door
"Be careful!" Josie yelled as he walked around the van and towards the Hawk Nest
"Kiara, holding onto your grudges is like drinking poison and thinking Sarah will die," Pope explained once John B was far enough away
"Exactly," JJ answered as he swatted josie's hand away as she tried to braid his hair
"Stop it," she said and pulled he head back and continuing "I will say, though, i do have a bad feeling about this,"
"Its John B, he's fine" Pope said and she slightly calmed down
"yeah " she said and restarted the braid in JJs hair
"What?" jj asked when she stopped moving
"Somethings wrong. No, something is very wrong. I can feel it" she said and sent a panicked look at Kie
"Did you hear that?" Kie asked and looked out the door of the van
Josie didn't even think to listen again before she was on her feet running towards the screaming
"Josie, wait!" JJ yelled as the other three caught up to her
Josie came to a hult a couple feet bak as everyone else ran towards John B's lifeless body
"Sarah! What happened?" Pope asked stopping by his body
"I don't know what to do. He needs help. Topper shoved him" Sarah rambled and held his head into her chest
"Where the hell is he?"JJ asked looking for Topper
"Oh, please, please, please call for help. I don't care who. Just call someone." Sarah pleaded and looked up
"Josie," Sarah sobbed when she saw his twin standing farther back then everyone else
"Go, go!" jj screamed and pushed pope away to find someone
"JJ," josie said barely above a whisper as she stepped closer
He spun around to see her panicked state
"Josie, breathe," he said and she took another step towards him
"Is he dead? What if he dies. What if he doesnt wake up? JJ, what- what if he doesn't remember us," Josie said and started panicking
"JJ she's going to have a panic attack," Kie said looking frantically between him and her
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god," josie mumbled and ran her fingers through her hair as her chest heaved up and down
"Josie, baby" jj said and cautiously walked toward her
She snapped her head up to look at her and she had bloodshot eyes and tears were falling down her cheeks. Her hand was against her chest as he rapidly breathed
"I cant- cant breathe. JJ- I- I cant- breathe," she said taking a sharp inhale bakery forming sentences
"Josie, it's going to be okay. Focus on my voice. He's going to be fine" JJ said and pulled trembling body her into his chest
"I- feel like- i'm gonna pass- pass out" she said and she eyelids struggled to stay open from the dizziness that was caused from her shortness of breath
"It's okay, it'll be okay. Its fine" JJ said to both him and herself
Her legs gave out and she slowly sat down pulling JJ with her
"POPE! COME ON!" JJ screamed making Josie flinch in his hold
"Just breathe, baby. Slow deep breaths" he said trying to calm her down
She couldn't focus on anything else. It was all just blur except the sounds of his voice
"Follow my breathing. Close your eyes, relax" he whispered and she tried what he said
She was trying to match her breathing pace with his and thought back to the time Big John took her and John B fishing anything that could make her relax
"JJ take her to the van. Make sure she's okay." kie said quickly wanting to get her away from the scene
"Come on, baby" JJ said and picked her up bridal style and she curled into his chest
He carried her back to the car and laid her down across the seat and sat on the floor beside her as she was calming down
"I can't lose him,J" she said slightly above a whisper
He nodded and was drawing random patterns on the palm of her hand. He brought her hand up and kissed her palm before she fell asleep crying

It's shorter but i wanted to get this scene in one chapter. Anyways i'll try to have a chapter up tomorrow but i might sleep till noon again it is kinda 4:42 am lol
