JENNIE
I'm not sure why I declined Lisa's offer to share a room with her. She and I have always slept over, but because of my confusion, I find it awkward to be alone in the same room with her. 'Sorry Lili, please bear with me.' I need some time to process these new feelings of mine.
I didn't bother waiting for Lisa to come out of her room. I decided to go to the dining hall on my own, but to my great surprise, I ran into my silly cousin and Rosé. They're both heading to the hall.
"Jendeukie, where is Lalisa?" Jisoo unnie asked, looking behind me.
"She's still in her room," I told her with a blank expression on my face, knowing that if I show any emotion, she'll tease me again.
"Are you not sharing a room with her?" Rosé asked with a furrowed brows.
"Yup, I'm taking the room in front of her." I boasted.
"But why, Jendeukie? Did the two of you fight again? Can you really sleep alone in that room? Did you bring your teddy bear? Is Kuma in your bag?" Jisoo unnie asked rapidly.
Ugh! This chicken keeps asking so many questions.
"Relax, Unnie. Lisa and I are fine. I just want her to have a good time here and relax in her own room. Don't worry about me because I can sleep without my teddy bear or Kuma. I'm an adult now, I can handle myself." I told them, but deep down I knew I will have an insomnia tonight.
"Jennie if ever you can't sleep in your room you can always sleep with us." Rosé sincerely said to me, then I saw Jisoo unnie look disappointed for a second but composed herself again. I want to laugh about what I witnessed. "Of course, Jendeukie, you can always sleep with us." My cousin said. Damn, this nasty chicken.
"Don't worry about me. I'm grateful for the offer, but I don't want to ruin your honeymoon." I teased them. "I already want a niece, unnie," I said and chuckled, then I noticed Rosé was blushing.
"Yah Jendeukie! You first, then us." Jisoo unnie said, and I just stuck out my tongue at her.
We arrived at the dining hall and decided to take our seats while we waited for the others, there was a variety of food served to us, including charcoal barbecued black pork, fresh seafood platters, grilled abalone, and many others.
"Where are the others?" I wondered as I watched Rosé drool over the food. "What has taken them so long? Can we start eating first, babe?" Rosé is now whining to Jisoo unnie.
"Just a bit, babe. Look. Irene, Wendy, and Joy are coming." Jisoo unnie says as Rosé pouts. This chipmunk is hungry all the time.
I glance in their direction to see if Lisa is there, but she isn't. Oh, that slow monkey, perhaps she's still unpacking her belongings. I suddenly felt guilty for coming here without checking on her. I should have helped her first. I was still wondering when I saw our three friends join us at our table.
"The foods look delicious." Wendy said as she smelled the aroma of the foods.
"I'm brokenhearted right now," Rosé admitted suddenly with a sad face.
We're all stunned by what she said, especially Jisoo unnie.
"What did you do to Rosé, Jisoo?" Joy asked.
The chicken is now nervous. "Hey baby, what are you saying? I'm not doing anything to you." Jisoo unnie says as she embraces Rosé's side, but the blonde is on the verge of crying.
"Jisoo, what did you do?" Irene asked and glared at unnie, but my cousin simply shook her head.
"I swear nothing." She said.
"Yah unnie! You're dead if Lisa finds out about this." I tease my cousin, and the chicken looks terrified now.
"It's not because of you, babe. It's the food," Rosé lamented.
We all look at the food in front of us.
"What's wrong with the food, baby?" Jisoo unnie asked her girlfriend.
"They all look delicious. What's the problem?" Wendy stated.
"I'm so brokenhearted now because it's so close to me but yet feels so far away. When are we going to eat them?" Rosé blurted out.
If Unnie wasn't here, I'd smack this chipmunk on the head, but we all just laughed at her.
"Ouch! Our girls are having fun without us. You're all unfair." Taehyoung suddenly came, clutching his heart.
"Let them enjoy this weekend V, after all, this is why we're here. Let's have fun and relax." Jungkook said, holding Tae's shoulder. I noticed Seulgi behind them, but Lisa is still missing. That monkey moves so slowly.
The two joined us while Seulgi excused herself to the restroom.
"Kookie is right V. It's been a long time since we all went out together, let's all give Lalisa our heartfelt thanks when she arrives." Joy said and chuckled.
My blood suddenly rushed to my face when they mentioned Lisa. Why am I blushing just hearing her name?
"Jendeukie, are you all right? Why are you so red?" Jisoo unnie asked. This chicken was fully aware of everything.
"I'm fine, unnie." I said but I didn't hear her response because I was distracted by Lisa walking towards us in my peripheral vision. I look at her, and just as I was about to call her, Seulgi approaches her. Lisa's brows are furrowed as they speak, giving me the impression that something is wrong with them. The two of them then leave after a few seconds. Where are they going?
I lost sight of them when one of the attendants approached us and said that we could already eat our food.
"Yehey!" Rosé said, who is overjoyed right now. Our friends laughed at her, but I'm still concerned about Lisa.
"What's wrong Jendeukie, why are you frowning?" Jisoo unnie asked. "I saw Lisa and Seulgi a while ago, but the two of them left. I don't know where they are going, they should eat first with us." I worriedly told her.
"Don't worry Jendeukie, maybe the two of them are just looking for gorgeous chicks right now." She joked, moving her brows at me, but she immediately stopped as I gave her a deathly glare. "I'm just kidding, Jendeukie. Don't worry too much. Maybe Lisa is just showing Seulgi around the place." Unnie said seriously now.
But Lisa can show her around after we've eaten. What's the rush about?
We're now eating our food and chatting about our jobs and other things.
"Jisoo unnie, how is Jin oppa by the way?" Joy asked, perhaps she was interested in my other cousin.
"He's still the workaholic of the Kim's family." Jisoo unnie chuckled.
"Why can't he relax a little? He's not even going out with us anymore, ever since he accepted to be your father's apprentice in managing your company." Tae said to Unnie.
"That's him. He does everything our father says to him. He's on a business trip for a month because our father wants him to. I'm glad I'm the opposite of him because I always refuse our father's offer to work for him." Jisoo unnie told us.
"I pity, oppa." Joy sadly said.
"Unnie, is Uncle Siwon not on a business trip right now?" I asked, remembering my mother telling me he was.
"No, Jendeukie, he says Jin oppa needs to know our business more, so he's letting him do our business in foreign countries on his behalf, but the truth is he's getting tired of traveling because he's getting older." My cousin said and laughs.
Is my mother lying to me, or did she not know that my uncle was here? I'll ask her when I get home because I need her explanation on this.
"Babe behave, he's still your father." Rosé said to Unnie. Jisoo unnie shut her mouth and behaved like a child because she was so whipped. This couple is so amusing that we can't help but laugh.
I noticed Lisa and Seulgi were still not returning. I excused myself to go to the restroom, but the truth is that I'm going to check on them. What if they decided to do crazy things again?
I stood up and excused myself. "Guys, I'm just going to the restroom." I said.
"Do you want me to accompany you, Jennie?" Rosé asked.
"I'm fine, Rosie." I said as I walked towards Lisa and Seulgi's direction before losing sight of them.
This place is huge. I looked everywhere for them, but I couldn't find them. I decided to rejoin the others when I heard someone arguing and the voices sounded familiar.
I went to the balcony because the voices were nearby. When I peeked through the door to see who was talking, I saw Lisa and Seulgi. Are they fighting? I decided not to interrupt and instead just listen to them, but their voices have now calmed down and they are just talking.
I can't hear them clearly, but I heard Seulgi say, "promise me also that you'll never like her."
"Of course, you know that my heart is already owned by someone else." My body stiffened and my knees became weak after hearing Lisa's response to her. I didn't even intend to hear her other words because I walked out and decided to return to the dining hall.
How can she keep this from me? She promised there would be no more secrets between us.
How could she do this. I was disappointed, but I still want to hear her damn explanation.
How long is she keeping this secret from me? What if she starts liking that girl after we make our promise to each other? Maybe she hasn't had a chance to tell me yet? But Seulgi already knew. Damn, I'm her freaking best friend. Why doesn't she tell me? Perhaps she believes I won't like the girl because I'm overly protective of her.
I have a lot of questions in my head.
Another thing that bothers me is why my heart feels so heavy right now. Please don't let my heart join the misery in my head right now. I walked quickly to my seat, not looking at my friends.
'Who is that girl you like, Lalisa, that made you hide her identity from me?'
I was still thinking when Jisoo unnie shook my shoulder that made me come back to my senses.
"Hey Jendeukie, are you okay? You look so pale when you come back here " Jisoo unnie asked, while Rosé and the others looked at me with full concern.
"I'm fine, maybe I'm just tired from the trip." I told them.
"Drink water Jennie, it will make you feel better." Rosé says, handing me a glass of water.
I'm about to thank Rosé when I hear that voice, the voice that now makes my heart race so fast that I want to rip it out of my chest and slam it into her face. Damn you Lalisa!
"What's with the long face, everyone? Do you dislike the food?" Lisa asked.
I noticed her and Seulgi sitting in the empty chairs next to Jungkook.
"Lalisa, we love the food, it's all delicious. Thank you so much, but we're just worried about Jennie, she looks so pale after returning from the restroom." Joy said. Why did she have to tell? I can't talk to Lisa right now.
Before I can object to what Joy has said. Lisa approached me and touched my face with both of her hands. "Hey Nini, look at me, are you okay?" I can hear how worried she is, but I don't want to look at her face because I am so upset. But unfortunately, I happened to look at her beautiful doe eyes and see how concerned they are right now. And because of that, my tears begin to fall as I can no longer contain my feelings anymore.
