the young female felt her body seize up as if she'd been electrocuted, and a deep, agonizing pain pierced through her chest. this sensation lasted only for a few moments, but it sent a shock through your entire being. you gasped, fighting to stay conscious. your mind felt fuzzy, like a fog had formed around your brain and clouded over your thoughts. you tried to think back on what exactly had happened to make you feel this way, but no matter how hard you racked your brains, nothing came forth. your vision blurred slightly, causing a wave of nausea to surge through you. you were disoriented and nauseous, and all you could see in front of you was a small black circle. in front of you was the familar being, or should you say, the hiddem leader of valhalla. his nostrils flared wide and nostrils dilated as he took several deep breaths, hiis muscles contracted in such a way that made you wince.
"why... are you doing this to me?" you whimpered, feeling more dizzy than before. not even a single chance for you to run away was in the option, you were tied up tightly with rope, and your wrists were bound to two metal posts that rose out of the ground. the male seemed to enjoy this, smirking at you with a smug look on his face. he then lifted his hand, revealing a sharp knife that glinted under the dim lighting of the room. his expression changed immediately, and something shifted deep within him, like a switch had been flipped. the smile vanished from his face and replaced with a twisted sneer.
"do not fear me, little one." he said, his voice deeper and rougher than ever. "you should fear for what was about to come. there will be time for pleasanter ways to spend your days than with a foolish human. i shall make sure you remember these things when my task is done." he smiled cruelly, before raising the blade high in the air, preparing to plunge it down into your heart. you wanted to scream, to beg him not to, but you couldn't find the strength to make even a sound. your head shot back in surprise as the cold tip of the blade touched your flesh, sending a wave of goosebumps over your skin. he then pulled it off quickly, holding onto it with both hands. it clattered to the floor, and a trail of blood dripped off the knife and onto the dusty, gray concrete floor.
he let out a deep laugh before leaning forward, his breath hot and rancid against your ear. you flinched, shuddering at the sensation of his tingue sliding across your cheek. you shut your eyes tight as you waited, waiting for the inevitable attack. but he never made an attempt to strike again. instead, he backed away slowly, his feet leaving a wet smudge of red on your face. "how does it feel to be back?" the male added a question, a cheshire grin slowly creeping on his face. the male liked seeing this, he liked being able to see these little moments in which humanity was at its most fragile.
"please don't do this to me, i... i haven't done anything wrong. please just..." you replied weakly, trying your hardest not to show your fear. your throat was dry, so that was difficult, but you managed. "i don't want to come back here, i'm scared...." the words were barely above a whisper, but the male heard you loud and clear. he laughed once more before straightening, wiping the bloody tip of the knife with a towel, and stowing it in his pocket.
his pitch black eyes stared into yours, searching for some kind of emotion, or maybe even recognition, from you. he found one, you were scared but rather, angry. "your anger is justified, i suppose. if i were you, i would be too. i don't wanted to see this kind of personality, let her come out. she's dangerous and, you aren't. you know perfectly well who i am referring to."
"who... who are you talking about?" your lips quivered as you forced your chin up, glaring daggers at him with as much hatred as you could muster up. the male rolled his eyes dramatically, looking completely bored and annoyed with you. he leaned over so he was inches away from your face, his lips brushing your forehead lightly. you shuddered at his touch; your nose wrinkled, and a growl escaped your throat.
"don't play stupid with me. you may be naive for a fledgling, but we've known each other for so many years that i could practically read your mind," he snapped angrily, his nostrils flared wide as he took in a deep breath. he let the air out loudly before continuing. "we experimented on you for a reason, quit with all the angel act. you're wicked, and i don't understand why you're being soft to rindou, you know full well that you can end him in a minute. i'll give you ten minutes, that's plenty of time for you to reconsider your decision and to decide whether you want to die a slow painful death or come back to us willingly."
"i will."

"rindou, i... i found the leader... he's heading towards your direction, don't let him get near to you! i can't believe my eyes, this can't be happening. you have to run away, it's him-" there was a loud thud, followed by another through the earpiece before a loud ringing filled their ears, and silence fell upon. kokonoi's line went dead, as well as theirs. a large frown etched amongst their faces, and then, the group began sprinting as fast as they could, pushing their bodies to move faster than they ever had before.
there was a strange smell that invaded rindou's nostrils, a burning smell. it grew stronger and stronger by the second, growing almost unbearable to his sensitive senses. he shook his head rapidly, clearing the scent, and continued running until he saw a bright light flashing somewhere in the distance. his instincts told him to turn tail and flee, but a part of him didn't want to listen to those instincts. the purple-haired won't leave this place without finding you, or else he'd be forced to kill everyone else. if it meant he could save you, then he wasn't going anywhere. he had to do everything in his power to keep you safe. so, in a flash, he darted toward the source of the strange burning smell. soon enough, he arrived at the place where he had first noticed the smoke rising from, and stood staring at the scene in shock. kakucho was the second one to arrive at the scene, followed by takeomi and ran. seems like they followed the burning smell too.
"the rooms are all empty, they must have evacuated. the flames are spreading really fast, we need to move quickly." the older purple-haired spoke, covering his nose due to the big smoke caused by the fire. rindou nodded, and the four walked inside the door that revealed a big basement. in the distance stood a massive, dark, looming figure. it was surrounded by a field of flames, giving it a menacing and eerie appearance. the figure turned its head up and looked directly at rindou with glowing eyes. he felt paralyzed, unable to speak or breathe properly. the figure started making its way slowly toward the group, the heat growing bigger and hotter by the second, and it was becoming harder to breathe. the smoke suddenly got thicker, and then there were noxious fumes filling the air. rindou coughed, his eyes watering as he covered his mouth and nose.
"r...rindou."
the figure spoke in a weak, shaky voice. it wasn't that long before the smoke cleared to reveal a woman- you. you were hunched over, coughing heavily as you clutched at your chest. there were blood stained the sides of your shorts, pooling onto the ground and dripping onto the hardwood, your clothes stuck tightly onto your body, revealing every inch of your body that was hidden under your thin pink shirt. your hair and clothes were soaked in your own blood, and you were bleeding badly from numerous wounds along your torso, arms and legs. the sight sent chills down rindou's spine, his heart pounding in his chest. he tried to walk over to you, but the weight on his shoulders prevented him from doing so. you gave another cough, spitting up blood onto the ground as you slowly walked towards his figure before falling backwards. it was then you finally noticed rindou and the rest standing in front of you, and then another violent bout of coughing took hold of you. tears poured down your cheeks from your eyes as you struggled to breathe, and yet, the only thing you could manage to say was rindou's name, softly. the pain in your ribs became unbearable. the smoke was still thick in the room and the temperature had now grown dangerously low, as if something was trying to burn down the whole building from within.
"y/n!" the purple-haired male screamed, lunging forward and pulling you up into his arms. he wrapped his arms around you, pressing his face into your shoulder as he fought back the urge to cry. he was afraid to lose you, afraid to lose all of his friends. his entire life he has been training his entire life to become strong, but you have changed everything for him, your smile, your laughter, and especially your love. the feeling of complete and utter loss washed over him as he realized just how much you meant to him, and he wished that the feeling wouldn't go away. he couldn't help himself; his hands gripped onto your back tighter and tighter as a sob escaped his lips. you held onto his clothes in return, a small smile escaping your face with heavy lidded eyes.
"please, leave me here. go save yourselves... i can't endure this pain any longer..." you uttered quietly before closing your eyes and allowing yourself to finally relax. you were dying, your breathing was getting weaker and shallower every passing moment that passed, and your body temperature began to drop rapidly. your vision went blurry, but you kept your eyes opened. it was then the sound of glass breaking, along with a loud roar of an engine could be heard throughout the entire building. a few seconds later, a large explosion rocked the building, sending debris flying everywhere.
"hey, we have to get going!"
"we're not leaving you y/n behind! rindou you have to carry her, otherwise we're gonna have ourselves get burned here to death." kakucho shouted, roughly gripping the purple-haired's shoulder to snap him out of his thoughts. a loud explosion came again, and the building crumbled down on itself once more, sending debris flying everywhere like a bomb had gone off inside.
rindou grunted, struggling to lift your limp body, his arms trembling uncontrollably. he managed to put both of your arms around his neck and lifted you up from the ground, carrying you in his back out of the burning area. ran, takeomi and kakuco ran after them, following close behind, keeping their distance from the smoke billowing towards them. the male ran against the wind, ignoring the excruciating pain in his muscles that was causing him to stumble a little bit with each step. his heart rate was speeding up, and sweat was starting to form along his forehead as he struggled to move faster, though his legs got tired real quick, he forced himself to run faster. he could feel your blood flowing down his figure, your warmth seeping through his thin jacket and soaking him through. he was sure he was blushing, and he hated it.
it wasn't that long before they reached the exit. the ash, dust, and the stench of burnt flesh wafted into their nostrils, making their stomachs growl in hunger. just as soon as they left the building, the world around them seemed to disappear from view completely. all they could hear was the deafening loud sound of building blowing up, the impact sending the four of them off to the sound. the sudden change in scenery made the group dizzy for a second, they landed safely on the ground, though they weren't able to react before a huge blast surprised them. the force was strong enough to cause them to cough violently as they laid helplessly on the ground. the air was hot and smoggy, and it made breathing rather difficult. all they wanted was some fresh air, but unfortunately, there wasn't any left. as they slowly regained their composure, they saw the destruction that surrounded them. buildings of all sizes collapsed all around them, creating a massive crater in the ground.
"they must've planted bombs around the area. now let's make our way back to the city before anything happens." ran spoke, slightly coughing and dusting the dirt throughout his clothes. his hair was disheveled, but thankfully, he didn't seem to mind it too much. "that was fucking crazy!"
"it would've been bad if we were caught in here when it exploded." takeomi commented with a frown, rubbing his sore arm. it stung as much as the burns across his skin did, and the fact that he was also wounded caused him to feel exhausted.
the purple-haired's male heart dropped the moment he felt your cold skin, his breath coming out in sharp, shallow gasps. he was sure you weren't dead, he still could feel your heartbeat- the only problem is that, it's getting weaker. even worse than it already was, you weren't responding to any stimuli, making the male panic even more. he gently placed you at the ground, your head laying at his legs whilst holding you as delicately as possible. a huge gust of wind burst past them, and blew your hair away. the other three looked at each other for a short while, not knowing what to do next. they had never seen rindou this scared, but there was nothing they could really do about it. none of them could think straight, their brains were all scrambled because of all the things happening. it was then when he spoke up, a slight tremble in his usually strong voice. "...i need some time alone with her, please. just give us a minute." he said calmly, his tone was calm, which was surprising considering how panicked his face looks. the four males hesitated, looking at each other hesitantly, but eventually agree.
it was as if the gods heared the purple-haired's prayers, as your eyes slightly fluttered opened. despite all the pain you were feeling, you couldn't stop the tiny, yet grateful smile on your face. the sight was beautiful, seeing him there, right beside you, looking extremely worried- it made your heart beat faster. the corners of your lips turned upward, the smile widening as you brought your fingers up to touch rindou's cheek. the male could notice the large wound on your cheek, the amount of blood seeped down your face, the amount of bruises on your body, the blood dripping out of your mouth onto the grass beneath you, and the look in your eyes that was filled with pure bliss.
"hey, don't cry... i thought you don't cry over things like these..." you knew you were moments away from passing out, and the last thing you wanted was to see the pain that was surely displayed on his face. you closed your eyes for just a brief second before they opened again, staring directly into rindou's purple orbs. "i'm sorry," you breathed out, tears spilling down your cheeks one by one. he gently brushed away your tears with his thumbs, wiping them away. he was unable to say anything due to his shock of seeing your condition, so instead he just held you tightly against him.
you coughed weakly, bringing your fingers up to brush through his hair, your hand stopping just above his scalp as you stared deeply into those beautiful purple eyes of his. he could see everything in yours, from anger, fear, sadness, happiness, anger, frustration, hatred... they were all there. "break up with sanzu. please, please do." rindou whispered, his face beginning to turn bright red. he felt like he was being selfish, but he doesn't care. the male could treat you right than sanzu.
"i want to." you muttered, smiling softly. "but it's not that easy, you know that."
"do you know how badly i've loved you?" rindou asked desperately. you shook your head, giving him another weak smile. your breath hitched in the middle of your sentence, a sudden wave of nausea washing over you. it took every ounce of strength in you to open your eyes and push through the intense pain. your breathing became heavier and heavier, and you tried to speak, but no sound escaped your lips. the pain was too much, you could barely move anymore. you looked into his eyes pleadingly, as tears started streaming down your face. "after this, after everything is over, let's go on a date." your eyes met with his, and you noticed something in them that you'd never really seen before; he was terrified, terrified that you'd reject him.
you nodded your head, a small chuckle leaving your lips. "i... promise."
"promise me that you'll wake up. now, rest. sleep, y/n... save your energy for later."
"silly, i'm not going to die." you laughed for the last time. tears flowed freely down the side of your face, and the male couldn't help but hold you closer, whilst trying to keep himself together. your heartbeat was fading away, your body weakening as you began to lose consciousness. your vision began turning black, and you fell into the darkness, unaware of anything. your breathing grew heavy, until it disappeared altogether.
"rindou!"
there was a sound of footsteps running towards his direction, the male turned around immediately, seeing that the person rushing towards him was the certain black-haired male. kakucho could see that you were no longer conscious, blood seeping through your clothes and stained on your cheek. he quickly crouched down, his hands hovering over your face, inspecting the wounds. the black-haired sighed, noticing the amount of broken glass in your skin, the damage to your arm that was oozing blood everywhere, as well as your head, which were bruised. "rindou, this is bad. kokonoi was found unconscious at the van, he was injured quiet badly. he has cuts and scrapes everywhere. he's definitely not in the best state."
