Kaitlyn's POV

When I got out of my breakdown state I paid attention to the arms wrapped around me. They were twice the size of my small ones. I slowly unwrapped myself from their warm embrace and looked at the person. I gasped when I realised who it was.

"Hey there..." He muttered and tucked a stray hair behind my ear.

"Daddy!" I whimpered and embraced him once more as I felt myself ready to explode again.

"Princess, it's okay... Everything will be okay..." He repeatedly muttered into my hair.

I pulled away and watched him dead straight in his eyes. His eyes widened.

"Daddy, what's going on?" I asked seriously as I felt hurt that they won't tell me.

He sighed, "I'm sorry this had to happen to you," he tiredly ran a hand through his messy hair.

"Why won't mom tell me anything! Does she not love me or trust me enough to tell me..." I muttered as a tear fell down my face.

"Oh, Princess, your mother loves you so much you would never understand. She's just trying to keep you safe," he reasoned as he wiped the fallen tear away.

"What's the use in trying to keep me safe now huh?" I humorlessly chuckled and shook my head.

"I guess I'll have to tell you everything you were bound to know," I looked at him awaiting for him to continue.

"But, I'll have to do it when your brother and sister is present, it's only fair for them to know also," he stated and I nodded my head in agreement.

"You'll have to stay in the hospital for a few days," he said in a worried tone. I rolled my eyes at that.

Throughout all the action and tantrums that have happened over the time I forgot to ask one important question.

"Dad, what day is it?"

"It's Monday, why do you ask?" he asked confused by the sudden change of topic.

"Well, it's not like it's a usual thing for me to get kidnapped and locked up in a cell or anything to actually miss seeing the daylight," I muttered sarcastically.

He sighed, "Are you really okay darling?"

I nodded my head and soon felt that agonizing pain return again. I clutched my head in pain and groaned, "Not again..." I muttered.

Dad panicked and kept asking if I'm okay. It would have been quite funny to see him like this, but right now it's not. The pain soon died down a little and I sighed in relief.

"I'm okay daddy, it's just the after effects of a concussion," I assured him with a gentle smile.

"I'm gonna take you to the doctor," he swiftly got up off the grass and picked me up in his arms. I squealed out in surprise and laughed as he carried me through the hospital back doors. Patients who were out for a walk looked at us like we were crazy, while some watched in awe.

"Put me down!" I squealed and held on for dear life.

He put me down in the room I was in before. It was empty, no one else was in it except for us.

I sighed in contemplation as I laid back on the headrest.

"Where's mom?" I muttered, she could have at least waited for me to come back.

"She left awhile ago to deal with some stuff..." he said and sat on the bed next to me.

"Gang stuff?" I glowered.

He nodded his head in dismay.

"Miss Summers, where had you run off too, I've been looking all over for you," a voice stated in disappointment.
It was the doctor, she held a stern disapproving look on her heavily make up face and a clipboard in her hands.

Her blonde hair was tied in a neat bun on top of her head. She had grey eyes and wore a white coat over her blue blouse and knee length black pencil skirt. She also sported a pair of black six inch peep toe pumps.

"Well I wa-" I began mischievously.

"She was with me," dad cut in, knowing I was gonna say something quite rude to the doctor.

"And who are you?" she asked with a sultry smile.

"Her father," he stated, not even taking a glance at the doctor lady.
I giggled, which got me an ugly glare.

"Well, I'm Doctor Sundae, but you can call me Lucy," she fluttered at my father who looked quite uncomfortable.

He cleared his throat, "Um, it's lovely to meet you but we're here for my daughter, so can you please tell me if I can take my daughter home?"

She rolled her grey eyes and turned towards me, "Because of the fall you had, it caused you to have a huge concussion. Which would result in you having headaches for the next week or two. You are to stay here till Wednesday to be monitored for any changes, and you'll be given quite a bit of pain meds if the pain increases. If you need anything just press this over there," she stated in a monotone voice and pointed towards a buzzer on the table.

I nodded my head and she walked out, not before glancing at my dad one last time.

"Ohhh seems like Doctor Sundae, I mean Lucy has a crush on you," I teased my dad.

"Yuck no!" He exclaimed and twisted his face in disgust while I laughed my butt off.

During the night I was relocated to a more comfortable room without anyone, just me alone with no roommate. All due to my father's request of course, plus my mother wanted me no where near Carson. He was still going to stay in the previous room.

The room was large and spacious with a huge window draped with lilac curtains. The walls were a lavender colour and it didn't smell like the other rooms nor a hospital. It smell like cinnamon and vanilla. The bed was a king size bed and extremely soft and cushy. I instantly fell asleep like a baby.

Carson's POV

My ribs were paining so much, it was quite hard to breathe properly. The doctor said the bullet hadn't done much damage to my body, it simply just went through my ribs and got a little stuck. They had to do a surgery to extract it and it was quite a heartbreak for my mother seeing as she nearly ripped the good doctor to shreds if he hadn't done his job.

I painfully sighed as I remembered how Kaitlyn ran out the room in tears and frustration. I wished I could had said or done something to help her.

My mom was also being quite a pain in the ass since I've woken up, it makes me wish I had more morphine in my system to keep me asleep.

"I don't want you anywhere near that girl or her family! Do you understand me Carson?" My mother bursted out in frustration.

I just nodded my head, not sure why my mom is so angry. I mean, yes I got kidnapped and shot in the ribs trying to save Kaitlyn and I would never regret it, but she hadn't done anything wrong.. I know she's as innocent as I am in this...

"Why are you so angry at Kaitlyn? It's not her fault that any of this happened," I defended, I felt helpless as I lay in this very uncomfortable bed in pain.

"Not her fault! Honey, you don't know anything about what her family does nor do I want you too, so please listen to me and just stay away," she pleaded as she held my cold hands in her warm ones. I sighed and looked away from her, what does she not want me to know?

"What are you on about mom?" I asked puzzled by her change in demeanor.

"Please, just stay away... I don't want to lose you like I lost your father..." she whispered and whimpered at the end. I looked at her and saw unshed tear ready to rain down her solemn face. I slowly reached out my palm and touch her soft face.

"I'll stay away mom, I promise," I smiled reassuringly, hoping she believes me. I never want to see my mother sad in anyway possible and I'll try my best to always make sure she's happy...

"I love you so much and it's only for your own good," she spoked gently as she stood up and kissed my forehead and walked out the door.

A dozen unanswered questions were swirling in my head as I stared up at the white untouched ceiling. I promised myself that I would get the answers to my questions no matter what! I just can't let my mother know I'm searching for answers, that'll just stress her out even more...
