"Who is she?"
"Hm?" His expression
feigned confusion, but she saw
right through it.
"Melanie.
She misses you,
apparently;
needs to see you soon,
she says."
She didn't miss a beat.
The vehemence and confidence
in her voice was a prominent
contrast between the rawness
of her eyes, prior to the tears.
He stumbled over his words:
"I-er, hmph, what?"
"No Inglés?"
She scoffed, rolling her
stone-cold eyes in the process.
"Let's see if this jogs your memory.
Blonde hair, green eyes;
wow,
you picked yourself a
beauty.
Oh,
and what's this?"
She gasped dramatically;
"What a body!"
He didn't say anything.
His eyes were wide
and reflected those of an
innocent man.
The irony
was almost comical.
Her voice dropped
to a
broken whisper.
"Why?"
He just looked at her,
seemingly
not even attempting
to provide her
with an explanation.
She shook
her head in
disappointment.
and turned to face the door.
"You'll regret it; that I'll make sure of."
With that, she left,
promising herself
that she'll get her
revenge.
