simon
it's been three weeks,
three weeks since our fateful meeting.
vik has only talked to me once from the last time,
i hate to say it but i miss that little demon.
in class i sit at the window seal,
watching josh as he writes notes, learning even though i'm dead.
every break time josh gets, he and i play football under the bleaches.
we nearly got caught once by ethan and harry,
but tobi caught us on the fourth time he saw us.
we ended up telling him about me,
josh held my shaking hand.
i still remember tobi's words;
"i don't care what you are simon, you make josh happy and i am grateful" he had a massive smile on his face that went ear to ear.
it was comforting.
ding dong
the bell for fifth period ending went,
everyone got up and collected their books ready for home.
"simon? you coming?" josh says and i look around to see no one else in class,
i zoned out for about 10 minutes after the bell.
"yes, i'm coming" i say as i jump off the window seal,
"you ok? you zoned out all of english" josh frowns as he and i walk through the hall way.
"yeah, i was just. thinking."
"that's a dangerous thing simon, even for you" josh chuckles,
"hey, shut the hell up" i playfully punch his arm and josh laughs.
"hey jos- oh!" i look over to see tobi looking at me wide eyed.
"what?" i ask josh,
"oh simon, i can hear you! also see you! well, i mean a little! you're a faint outline and i can just make you out!" tobi says rambling.
"ok? what is he wearing?" josh asks raising an eyebrow,
"a burgundy hoodie with black skinny leans and dark red converse! you also have blonde hair and wait green- no blue eyes!" tobi claps his hands excitedly like a child.
"w-wow" i breathe as tobi finishes.
"also josh is holding your hand" tobi wiggles his eyebrows at us.

i feel my face heat up and josh lets go of my hand,
"no-wait! now i can't see simon! josh, hold his hand again" josh hesitates and then hold my hand.
"oh, i can see him again!" tobi tilts his head,
"what if i let go, can you hear him tobi?" josh lets go,
"tobi? hey tobi?" i call to him.
"is he saying anything?" tobi asks looking around.
i frown at josh as he just smiles at me.
"yes tobi, i guess you can only see him and talk to him through me,"
"so josh is basically simon's anchor to the human world! this is so cool! what a story that would make!" tobi giggles.

"shut up tobi, let's go home" josh goes to grab my hand,
"b-but josh-"
"shh. baby steps simon, baby steps"
