“Wow.  There are a lot of people here,” Harry commented.

“Well, personally, I knew there would be a lot of people here, so I braced myself,” Niall replied.

I smiled.  “Yeah sorry, I should’ve told you.”

Harry turned to me, an evil look in his eyes.  “Yes Charlie.  You should have,” he said menacingly.

I jumped backwards.  “Woah, you sure can be intimidating,” I decided, leading them towards the laser tag area.

“Laser tag?  I’ve never done this before,” Niall said.

I was surprised.  “Serious?  Wow, you haven’t lived.  I can’t really talk though, I’ve only ever played it once,” I told them, paying for the tickets.

“You didn’t have to pay,” Harry protested.

“Well I get a discount because I’m an ex-student and my mum is helping out somewhere.  And the tickets are way overpriced, so it’s better if I pay,” I informed them.

“Ok-ay?  I’m still not happy though,” Harry insisted.

I handed him a gun.  “Well, you don’t have to shoot me if you don’t want to,” I said with a grin, stepping into the blow-up maze.

The next twenty minutes were full of screaming and shooting, the funnest of all the funnest things.  Even though ‘funnest’ isn’t a word.  Damn you grammar!

We emerged from the maze, red faced and grinning.

“Wow that was fun.  Gotta do that again sometime,” Niall laughed.

Harry nodded.  “Yeah, but Louis just texted me asking where we are.  We have to be back at the hotel in an hour,” he said.

Niall pretended to cry.  “Time for some more fun!” he cried.

We spent twenty minutes eating and dunking slurpees on each other, (by accident) buying fairy floss and eating too many cakes.  Then we started walking back to the park.

“So you have school tomorrow?” Harry asked.

I nodded.  “Sadly, yes man,” I told him.

Niall laughed.  “Ha! Ha!”

I scowled at him.  “Thanks a lot,” I said.

He stopped laughing.  “I was just kidding!” he defended.

Harry rolled his eyes.  “Sure you were!”

“So are you still on tour?” I asked.

“Yeah we are.  We’re supposed to be performing in Melbourne tonight, but the bus is still down, and yeah, something happened in the arena.  A ‘technical’ problem,” Harry told me.

I nodded.  “Most of my friends are going, and they’re pretty sad about the delay, but I told them to suck it up, so it’d better be a good concert!” I warned mockingly.

Niall laughed.  “It will be.  Trust me.  What are your friends’ names?” he asked.

“Lily, Grace and Dani,” I said.

“Okay.  Lily, Grace and Dani.  Harry, remember!” Niall ordered.

“No!  You can,” Harry replied without flinching.

“Hey can I borrow your phone Char?  I left mine back at the hotel,” Niall said.

I nodded and pulled it out.

He typed something in and handed it back.  “Thanks,” he said.

“That’s alright,” I replied.

“Okay, we’d better get going.  It was great getting to know you Char!  Hey, we’re doing a twitcam tonight, make sure you tune in!” Harry said.

I shrugged.  “If I figure out how to work it,” I told him.

“Bye,” Niall called as they walked away.

“See ya!  Have fun at the concert!  Don’t keep making those Same Mistakes!” I called, hinting the fact they’d never performed ‘Same Mistakes’ live.

Harry laughed.  “What mistakes?” he called.

I shook my head and turned the corner, straight into Finn Daniels.

“Oh joy, how great to see you?” I said sarcastically.

“Same to you!  What are you doing here?” he asked.

“Uh, going for a walk?  I do live you know,” I replied.

He nodded as though satisfied with my answer.

“See you tomorrow in class CHAR!” he cried, jogging away.

I rolled my eyes and walked home, noticing how nice Niall, Harry and Louis had been, and I’d only known them for two days, compared to 9 years with Finn Daniels, and the same old insults over and over again.

The next morning, I got to school to see Dani’s face.  Literally.  I stepped off the bus and she was like, RIGHT THERE!  It was freaky actually.

“Hey man,” I said, backing away jokingly.

“Hey!” she said, smiling brightly at me.

“Okay, who’s given you a million dollars?” I asked.

“One Direction.  Well, they haven’t given me anything, but I got tickets!  And those tickets where you can meet them!” she cried excitedly.

I was excited too.  We were excited TOGETHER!

“Oh my god really?” I asked.

“Yes!  And you’re coming with me!” she cried.

Wow, now I’m about to fall on the ground and faint.  Wait; make that the other way around.  I’m going to faint, and then fall on the ground.  Yes, that’s better.

“Oh my gosh thanks Dan!  I love you!” I cried, giving her a hug.

She grinned at me and we walked to class.

“So when is it?” I whispered during English, my FAVOURITE subject.

“Friday night, 7:30 pm.  You don’t mind taking the train down do you?” she asked.

I shrugged.  “I haven’t before, but yeah, I think it’ll be okay,” I replied.

Dani grinned.  “Good, cause we don’t have any other way of getting down,” she said.

I pretended to be relieved.  “Phew!  That was close!”

Then the teacher told us to shut up.  Well, she actually told Dani to move, but she didn’t.

The week went super quick, and after a reluctant ‘yes’ from mum, Dani and I were on the train to Melbourne.

“Are you excited?” I asked.

She looked at me like I was mental.  “What do you think?  I’m bloody freaking out!” she cried.

“Shut up!” I hissed as we earned a few strange looks from the other passengers.

For the whole trip, Dani went on about how hot Louis was and how funny he was and how gorgeous he was and how amazing he was and how amazing his voice was and how nice he was and blah blah blah.

I have to admit though; he did seem like a pretty nice guy for the two minutes I talked to him…

“Uh Charlie?  Get up!  We’re here!” Dani cried, literally yanking me off my feet.

I stumbled up and out of the train, following her through the bustling station to our hotel, which was about a ten minutes’ walk away.

I stepped into the room and flopped onto the massive bed.  “Ahh,” I sighed.

Dani was in the room next door, so I had an hour to get ready and what not.

After a while, I decided to wear a black blouse underneath a black and white striped jumper, with a feather necklace, scarf and spotted back pack.  I tied my hair in a high ponytail and attached a black bow.

I finished just as Dani knocked on my door, looking super excited.

“Quick!  We’ll be late!” she squealed, pulling me outside the door.
