I paced the floor to my bedroom. Once Ash froze, I stayed for an hour trying to get him to snap out of it, but he didn't. I ran home and straight to my room. My sister tried to get me to come out but I just couldn't. What could have scared him so bad? Did he not like me anymore? What was I going to do now?
"Red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere, Hands in the air like we don’t care, Cause we came to have so much fun now, Bet somebody here might get some now."
I jumped in freight as my phone went off. I quickly answered it.
"Acheron?" There was a chuckle.
"Sorry, but no. I was wondering if you wanted to come have dinner with me?" Alex's voice sounded in my ear. I bit my lip feeling a little nervous.
"uhm, sure. I need a friend right now anyways." I smiled a little. "Where do you want to meet at?"
"I was thinking about the Fringe?"
"That celtic restraunt down on Scales street?"
"op. Forgot you couldn't see through a phone call." He laughed. "I nodded. I'm quite stupid, but yes, that's the one." I laughed a little.
"Sure. I'll meet you there in ten." We hung up and I went to my closet. I shuffled through my clothes until I found a nice dark grey long sleeved dress shirt. I pulled it on and found some cute peach skinny jeans to go with it. I went to my vanity and brushed through my hair. I pulled on my matching peach colored scarf. I grabbed my keys, phone, and wallet. As I shoved it all into my pocket I slid on my black flats and walked out the door.
I pulled into the parking lot a few minutes later and could already see his sexy jeep parked in the corner. He was standing near the entrance. I smiled and walked over to him. I gave him a hug and he sniffed the air.
"Damn. That sure happened fast." I looked confused.
"What are you talking about?" He just laughed.
"Oh you are so cute." He threw his arm over my shoulders and walked us in. "We will talk about that later." I shrugged and allowed him to escort me inside. I could smell other wolves in here but I ignored it. I sat down with my back against a wall and smiled as our waiter came up.
"Hello Mrs. Parthenopaeous. Mr. Woodly. What can I get y'all to drink this evening?" I looked up at her.
"I will just take a blackberry and rasberry tea please." I said as she handed me a menu. She looked to Alex.
"I will have a Pepsi please." He smiled up at her. She nodded and walked away. I looked to him.
"How did she know our last names?" He smiled chuckling a little.
"You should have been able to smell her. She is a phyche." my lips formed a little 'o'. He laughed. "So, what is going on with you and Acheron? You seemed a little worried when you answered the phone." I frowned a little as the memories returned. i looked at him.
"I don't know what happened." I felt the familiar burning sensation behind my eyes as tears started to form but I kept them at bay. Alex must have seen because he moved over and put his arm around me. I sniffled. "We were fine one moment and then suddenly Arikos and Sylis were growling and then Acheron and Arikos both just froze." A tear spilled over. "He wouldn't talk to me. He wouldn't even move. What did I do, Alex?" I burried my face into his neck. I didn't care that the wolves around us were mumbling stuff about this. I just wanted to know why the man I loved didn't love me back anymore.
"Aw honey." He rubbed my back gently. "You didn't do anything wrong. He was probably just shocked." I shook my head and pulled back to look at him.
"You don't understand Alex. I don't think he wants me anymore."
"Don't you say that. Ever." A new voice said and my head snapped up to see Acheron standing there. My breath caught.
"Ash." I whispered softly. He looked to Alex.
"Hands off." Alex's hands were suddenly up in the 'i surrender' position.
"I was just trying to comfort her bro. I'm sorry." He moved so Acheron could sit beside me. I looked at him.
"Then why did you just freeze like that?" Acheron looked at her curiously.
"you really don't know?" She laughed sarcastically.
"If i knew do you really think I would be sitting here freaking out?" I looked at him. He bit his lip slightly. It took everything i had to not lean over and kiss him. He looked so sexy when he bit his lip.
"aaliyah you are pregnant." He said looking at me warily. I laughed at him.
"Acheron are you high? I'm not pregnant. you're the only one i have had sex with in four months and we used a condom." His cheeks got a little red and he scratched the back of his neck. I gasped and slapped him. "What were you thinking?!" The entire restraunt got quiet. Our waittress turned around as she began to bring our drinks. She took them back knowing if she came over here she would be the next one liable to get slapped. I glared at Acheron. I could tell he was exteremly angry now but for some reason I didn't care. If I was truly pregnant like he said, what would I do? I wasn't ready to have a child!
"aaliyah-marie mason." He growled but I still stood my ground. Alex tensed as he heard the anger in Ash's voice. Believe me, if I wasn't this angry, I would have shrank back in fear. "Get your ass outside. Now." His hands shook slightly but I just scoffed.
"No. I will not. You do not tell me what to do Acheron Partenopaeus. I will sit here, and I WILL have dinner with Alex. " I gasped slightly as I was suddenly yanked up by my arm into a standing position.
"Get the F*CK outside this INSTANCE!" He roared. Everyone seemed to freeze. Not many people heard Acheron get this angry. I glared at him and snatched my arm away from him.
"F*ck you." I growled and looked at Alex. "I am sorry I have a complete ass hole as a mate but I feel more sorry that you have to be his friend." I leaned over and kissed Alex's cheek then walked out ignoring the stares that followed me. I could feel more than hear Acheron following me. Once I stepped outside I was roughly shoved into the brick wall. I gasped slightly and looked up at my angry mate.
"You EVER speak to me like that again, especially in public, and I will not hesitate to put you in your place. Do you understand me!?" My eyes filled with tears as I nodded. I don't know why I lost all of my anger, but I know I was now really scared. My head and back hurt from hitting the wall so hard. I was scared that he would hit me. "Speak!" He yelled and I jumped. The tears spilled over.
"Y-yes sir." I cried. I put my head in my hands and cried harder. It was quiet for a minute until he sighed.
"Get in the car." He reached into my pockets and got my car keys. I quickly moved and got into the passenger side. I didn't want to anger him anymore. He got in the driver seat and started the engine.
It felt like it took hours to reach his house even though I know it only took thirty minutes. I got out the car slowly so I didn't make my back hurt. He locked my doors and threw the keys onto his desk as we walked into his room. I brushed the tears that were still falling, away. I sniffled.
"Go take a hot shower to ease your back." I looked up at him.
"I have no clothes." I whispered softly. He went to his dresser and pulled out a pair of boxers and a big white shirt. He walked over and went to hand them to me. I jumped a little and took a step back. I looked down as I realized that he was only handing me clothes, not about to hit me. He sighed and very gently pulled me to him. He lifted my chin with his finger.
"I'm sorry baby." He sighed again. "It's just, Arikos took over. I really am sorry." I nodded and gently pulled away as I licked my lips. I went and took a shower. When I was finally finished my back seemed to be ok until I bent down to pick up my shirt that had fallen. I gasped in pain and clutched my back the best I could. My eyes filled with tears again but I surely didn't let them fall. I gently stood back up and pulled on my shirt.
I walked out to his room and saw him already laying there. He pulled back the covers but I tensed. I was ashamed.
"aaliyah?" He asked. I looked up.
"I-I can't lay down." I whispered feeling even more ashamed. He looked at me.
"What do you mean you can't lay down? How do you plan on sleeping?" Instead of answering I just slowly walked over to the bed and laid down on my stomach. Pain shot through my back but I ignored it. I knew he was right. "It will be healed by morning." I didn't answer vocally but I did nod. He sighed but didn't voice his anger. He simply laid down.
How am I going to keep him calm now?
