Harper was finally awake. She had been in a car accident a few weeks beforehand and had been in a coma ever since. When Griffin Campbell, Harper's boyfriend of 3 years, got to the hospital, he got a surprise that he never expected. And he wasn't happy about it.
He walked into the hospital room and saw Harper lying there, reading Little Women.
"Hey Harp!" He exclaimed happily, smiling brightly.
"Hi..." Harper said awkwardly.
"Whats wrong babe?" Griffin asked his smile still bright.
"Babe?" Harper asked.
"Yeah....It's me Griffin. Right? Your...boyfriend?" He asked, his smile faltering.
"Boyfriend? I don't even know you!" Harper exclaimed, confused.
"Haha very funny Harp." Griffin chuckled. Harper looked at him blankly.
"You're really not joking?" Griffin asked, heart dropping. Harper shook her head. Griffin felt tears well up in his eyes.
"I'm really sorry......." Harper said, noticing his watery eyes. He shook his head, afraid to speak. He knew if he opened his mouth to speak, he would cry. He then turned and left the room.

About a week later, Griffin was back at the hospital. Turns out, the only person Harper remembered was her mom. She didn't even remember her own brother! Jess had reassured Griffin that she was trying to do everything she could to jog her memory. She had told Griffin to bring in pictures of the two so he could try as well.
Griffin knocked on the door and saw Harper looking at a picture he knew by heart. The photo on Harper's nightstand. The one of her and her brother in her dad's yellow convertible.
"Hey." Griffin said.
"Hi sweetie. We're just looking at some pictures. Come in." Jess answered.
He sat in a chair next to Jess.
"Hey Harper. How are you?" He asked sadly.
"I'm okay. You're Griffin right?" She asked.
"You remember me?!" Griffin said, gaining hope.
"Oh no sorry. My mom told me your name." Harper said awkwardly.
"Oh." Griffin said, face falling. Jess laid a hand on his shoulder.
"I will let you two hang out. Griffin has some pictures of you two to try and jog your memory." Jess explained. Harper nodded as Jess walked out.
Harper noticed the upset look on Griffin's face as he rummaged through a folder full of pictures.
"I'm really sorry." Harper apologized.
"For what?" Griffin asked, looking up.
"For not remembering you." Harper said.
"It's not your fault." He muttered looking back down. Harper noticed he was holding back tears. She didn't say another word, realizing that he was upset. A few minutes later, he held out a picture.
"This is you and me playing Minecraft together." Griffin chuckled as he showed her the picture.
"Why'd I make that face?" Harper laughed. Griffin shrugged with a smile.
"This was when out families went to Disney World together. It was right after we rode the Tower of Terror and it definitely lived up to it's name. I found it utterly terrifying." Griffin chuckled. Harper smiled.
"This is a picture my parent's took of us. I don't know why we looked so serious!" Griffin laughed. Harper smiled as she watched his face light up at the picture. She may not have remembered him, but she already knew he had been a great boyfriend.
(pretend boy is Griffin girl is Harper)
"And this....was our first kiss. It was our first trip together and our families went to the beach together. I remember you confessed to me and I wouldn't stop rambling, so you kissed me. My little sister, I know you don't remember her but she loved you, her name is Zoey and she took this picture." Griffin smiled as he showed Harper the picture.
Harper cocked her head at the picture. She glanced over at Griffin, who had tears in his eyes.
"What's wrong?" Harper asked him.
"I miss you. I mean, I know you're right here but-" Griffin began.
"I know what you mean." Harper said looking down. She watched as Griffin swatted at his eyes.
"I think you should move on Griffin." Harper said. He looked up in shock.
"What?" He asked.
"I'm not the same girl I was a few weeks ago. Move on. Find someone new. I could never be the girlfriend I used to be Griffin. That girl in those pictures was the old Harper. The old me is gone Griffin." Harper said. She was trying to comfort Griffin but she realized she had failed miserably when a tear fell from Griffin's face, followed by a sniffle.
"Why?" He squeaked out.
"I'm sorry Griffin. But I think we should be done." Harper said with a sympathetic look on her face.
"You don't remember anything?" Griffin asked, voice breaking. Harper shook her head sadly.
"Oh." Griffin said, trembling.
"I'm sorry Griffin. Really." Harper said. Griffin shook his head and walked out in silence. He shut the door behind him. Jess asked him what was wrong but he didn't answer. He didn't trust himself to speak. Griffin knew that if he said a single word, he would lose his mind right then and there. All Griffin wanted to do was fall to the floor and cry but he knew that that would lead to too many questions. Questions that would most likely make him cry even more.
He was left with his memories.

Jess walked into Harper's room.
"Why was Griffin crying?" Jess asked gently.
"I didn't mean to upset him. I just couldn't remember anything." Harper said sadly.
"It's not your fault baby. He's just upset. He just misses you that's all." Jess said.
"I broke up with him." Harper sighed.
"I figured honey. He'll be alright." Jess said.

A few hours later, Harper was going through her messages with Griffin. She was reading them when one caught her eye.
Guitar God <3
- I love you Locker Ninja <3 :)
Locker ninja. Locker ninja. Locker ninja.
Everything flooded back to her. She called Griffin.
"I'm locker ninja! I love you Griffin, I always have and I always will! I remember. I love you so much!" Harper exclaimed.

Within minutes Griffin was at the hospital, deeply kissing Harper. He was so relieved.
