-Y/N's POV-
Once we made it to the school, the 4 of us exited the car. I decided to break the tension and tell them the plan I came up with on how to deal with Wilbur.
Before I could tell them, Wilbur came walking up to us, making all of them glare at him.
WILBUR:
"Y/N, lover boys." He glanced between all of us.
The 3 of them rolled their eyes while my eyebrows squished together.
CLAY:
"What do you want Wilbur?"
WILBUR:
"I want Y/N to tell everyone she lied about her being pregnant." He crossed his arms while glaring at me.
Y/N:
"How about I tell you what I want?" I raised an eyebrow while getting close to his face, making all 3 of my friends eyes widen a little.
Wilbur narrowed his eyes at me.
Y/N:
"I tell everyone I lied, but ONLY because you were gonna lie and tell everyone you slept with me when you didn't, so therefore, I wanted to get you back. You'll admit to the fake lie so that way, people give you less hate. In return, you and your friends will leave me and all my friends alone."
Wilbur sighed in annoyance while shutting his eyes.
WILBUR:
"Did anyone ever tell you you're a pain in the ass?"
Y/N:
"Thank you." I grinned, "Now do we have a deal or not?"
I held out my hand for him to shake. After contemplating in his head, he sighed again while rolling his eyes.
WILBUR:
"Deal..."
We shook on it.
WILBUR:
"You have very soft hands." He smirked, "That's a good quality to have."
Y/N:
"Oh shut up—" I pushed his chest to get him away from me.
GEORGE:
"How are you gonna tell everyone?"
WILBUR:
"Word is, there's an assembly today. We can do it then."
Y/N:
"Ew. I hate assemblies." I cringed.
WILBUR:
"Another thing we have in common." He grinned.
Suddenly, the bell rung.
Y/N:
"Shiznuts, Ms. Erikson is probably back—"
WILBUR:
"She is."
Y/N:
"Ugh—c'mon Clay—" I took his wrist and we ran away together.
Clay looked back at George and Nick for a moment then ran off with me.
When we made it to Ms. Erikson's classroom, I was out of breath. She was leaning against her desk.
Y/N:
"We're..." I took deep breaths, "Here..."
She nodded, "Let's take our seats."
Clay and I exchanged a glance of:
"Can't believe she isn't yelling at us."
Then we took our seats. For the whole class, Clay didn't look at me for some reason. I tried getting his attention to make him laugh since he seemed tense but it didn't work, he just kept ignoring me.
Then it hit me.
"Wait...is he acting weird because we cuddled yesterday? We've cuddled before, I didn't think it was that big of a deal. And he didn't mention something wrong with his mom. Maybe he's thinking of his dad." I thought with a frown.
In an attempt to make him happy, I threw an eraser on his paper in front of him to get his attention. His eyebrows squished together then he finally looked at me.
When he did, I puffed out my cheeks while crossing my eyes to my nose. He instantly smiled then looked back down at his paper so he wouldn't laugh out loud.
I grinned, knowing I could make him laugh instantly.
Once class was over, Clay walked out of the classroom without waiting for me like usual. This made me frown as I hurried after him.
I chased him until I caught up with him. I grabbed his wrist and turned him around to me.
Y/N:
"Hey, why're you ignoring me?"
CLAY:
"I'm not." He lied.
Y/N:
"Right." I rolled my eyes, "Is this about last night?"
CLAY:
"L—last night?"
Y/N:
"Yeah I mean...us, cuddling..."
His eyes widened as he looked even more nervous.
Y/N:
"I didn't think it was that big of a deal...and you seemed like you liked it so what changed this morning?"
Clay swallowed hard as his eyes were scanning the hallways, like he was waiting for someone to show up.
Y/N:
"Clay, hellooo?" I snapped in front of his face, making his daze revert back to me, "Tell me what's going on."
He sighed nervously with a frown.
CLAY:
"It's nothing, okay? I don't wanna talk about it."
My lips curled down as my eyes fell to the floor.
Y/N:
"B—but we've always been able to talk to each other...what changed..?"
He shut his eyes while shaking his head then George came up to us.
GEORGE:
"Hey Y/N, we should get to math." He pulled me by the wrist before I could finish my conversation with Clay.
I looked over my shoulder at Clay with a frown, he returned one back at me. Once George and I made it to Math, I stopped him near the doorway.
Y/N:
"George, why'd you drag me off like that?" I rubbed my wrist, "That kinda hurt..."
His eyes widened as he looked down at my now red wrist.
GEORGE:
"Shit—I'm sorry. I just, really didn't wanna be late for math." He lied.
Y/N:
"It's okay. Do you know what's going on with Clay? He completely ignored me in Chemistry and just now, he wouldn't tell me what's going on."
The corner of George's lips curled up but quickly faltered away, like he was trying to contain his happiness, it made my eyes narrow at him.
GEORGE:
"Just family problems." He shrugged, "Anyway, I was thinking after tutoring today, we could go to the park like we used to."
Y/N:
"What about your parents?"
GEORGE:
"They said it was okay." He lied with a light smile.
Y/N:
"Really?" My eyebrows squished together.
GEORGE:
"Mhm." He nodded, "So, the park? What do you say?"
Y/N:
"O—okay. But um...could you tell me what's specially going on with Clay? I mean, I've never seen him like this before and it's making me really anxious." I frowned, "We can always talk to each other about anything and now he's shutting me out..."
George clenched his jaw.
GEORGE:
"Clay's a big boy, he can take care of himself."
My eyes widened as my eyebrows squished together.
George has always had Clay's back. They've been like best friends that everyone thinks is secretly together. They've always made each other laugh so hard until they've cried but now, it seemed like George didn't even care why Clay was sad, it made me even more anxious.
GEORGE:
"Let's sit down." He grabbed my wrist lighter this time and led us to our seats.
DARRYL:
"Hey Y/N." He waved to me.
Y/N:
"Hey Darryl." I lightly smiled, "Oh! Good news! Wilbur and his friends won't be messing with you anymore, I made sure of it."
DARRYL:
"Oh..." his eyebrows rose as his voice sounded a little disappointed, "T—thanks..."
Y/N:
"Why do you sound sad about that?"
DARRYL:
"O—oh um no—no reason." He messed with his fingers.
Y/N:
"Did you like getting bullied or something?" I nervously laughed.
DARRYL:
"No of course not but um..." he sighed then whispered to me, "it was the only way Zak paid attention to me..."
My eyes widened as I slapped my own hand over my mouth with the biggest smile.
Y/N:
"You like him??" I whisper-yelled to him.
Darryl shyly nodded while I gasped, smiling wider.
GEORGE:
"What's going on?" He looked at us finally after getting his assignments out of his folder.
DARRYL:
"Nothing—" he quickly said, "We're just talking about...muffins."
George narrowed his eyes then looked into mine. I nodded quickly, knowing Darryl didn't feel comfortable to share his sexuality to everyone else yet.
Mr. Jay walked into the classroom suddenly with his briefcase.
MR. JAY:
"Morning everyone."
Y/N:
"We'll talk later." I whispered to Darryl with a smile, making him nod with a shy smile.
George gave us a slight glare then returned his attention to Mr. Jay.
MR. JAY:
"First things first, I'll be collecting your homework from last night."
My eyes widened as my jaw dropped.
"Fudgebuckets, I forgot to do my homework since I was busy with Clay." I thought.
As Mr. Jay walked through the rows, I sighed nervously. I looked over at George to see him gripping his assignment, taking a deep breath as his hands shook slightly.
Mr. Jay collected George's homework then held his hand out for mine.
Y/N:
"A—actually um...I kind of, forgot to do it last night." I frowned at Mr. Jay.
George clenched his jaw while glaring at me, shaking his head.
Mr. Jay chuckled slightly.
MR. JAY:
"You can make it up to me by completing it during the tutoring session after school today."
Y/N:
"Deal." I breathed out in relief with a smile.
He grinned then collected Darryl's assignment along with everyone else's.
Mr. Jay taught the class and throughout the time, my eyelids were shutting from waking up so early with Clay. I leaned my cheek into my palm as I tried holding myself up.
My vision became blurrier as my eyelids kept slowly shutting, and everything Mr. Jay was saying, I was blocking out.
I ended up giving up completely and rested my eyes.
-GEORGE's POV-
The whole time, it felt like Mr. Jay was moving too fast even though the students thought differently.
I was scribbling down my notes as quick as I could, making them look like table scraps instead. I glanced slightly at Y/N and saw she fast fast asleep in her palm.
Seeing what she looked like sleeping made my heartbeat slow down a bit as I smiled at her, admiring her.
"No wonder why Clay didn't hold back. She's so effortlessly beautiful when she's asleep." I thought.
Mr. Jay noticed a little after me that Y/N was asleep but he let it slide for whatever reason.
When the bell rung, Y/N gasped awake as she jerked her head side to side then she remembered where she was and what happened.
GEORGE:
"Enjoy the nap?" I lightly laughed.
She sighed in defeat.
Y/N:
"Clay woke me up super early this morning to drive me to my house since I slept over." She yawned.
I swallowed hard.
GEORGE:
"Have you slept at his house before?"
She shook her head as she rubbed her eye with another yawn.
GEORGE:
"Has he ever slept at yours?"
Y/N:
"Duh." She laughed, "You all have."
GEORGE:
"Yeah but...has he ever slept there with you...alone...?"
She turned her head to me as her eyebrows squished together. That's the most confused I've ever seen her look.
Y/N:
"No...why're you asking me this?"
GEORGE:
"No reason...has um, Nick ever done that or vise versa?"
As if her expression couldn't get more confused, it did.
Y/N:
"No...George, you three are making me feel really uneasy today. With Clay ignoring me and you asking me all these weird questions..."
-Y/N's POV-
That's when it hit me.
Y/N:
"Wait..." my eyes widened, "Did you guys have a fight?"
George clenched his jaw while glaring out the window.
Y/N:
"I knew it wasn't family problems—why'd you lie to me?"
GEORGE:
"So you can lie but we can't?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
My expression dropped along with my shoulders as I frowned. He noticed my form, immediately widening his eyes.
GEORGE:
"N—no that's—that's not what I meant—" he stuttered, "I—It's just..."
He looked at me a certain way, like he wanted to tell me something, but he couldn't. All it did was spread more anxiety to my chest as my frown deepened.
Y/N:
"Why're you fighting...?" I asked quietly.
GEORGE:
"N—no we're not fighting." He lied.
I sighed as I slightly glared at him.
Y/N:
"Fine, don't be honest with me..." I mumbled then swung my backpack over my back and walked out, leaving him behind.
I walked to third period alone with my head full of thoughts.
"Why are they fighting? They never fight." I repeated to myself in my head.
Once I made it to History, I saw Nick in the back of the class in his seat, messing with his fingers. I frowned at him then walked up to him.
Y/N:
"Hey hubby." I sadly smiled.
He sadly smiled back at me slightly.
NICK:
"Hey..."
I sat down next to him and rested my backpack on the floor.
Y/N:
"First things first...I wanna apologize again for the whole...thingy." I looked around to make sure no one was watching us, "I didn't mean to do that and I really don't want you to hate me."
NICK:
"I don't hate you, okay? I could never hate you." He frowned while staring at the ground.
Y/N:
"Okay so...are we good now?"
He nodded slowly without looking at me.
Y/N:
"I know something's going on."
His head jerked to me.
Y/N:
"But I don't know why..." my lips curled down, "George tried lying but I can tell...the three of you aren't having family problems, you're a fight with each other...why?"
Nick swallowed hard while looking at Mr. Cohen enter the classroom.
NICK:
"H—he's here..." he mumbled.
I rolled my eyes then grabbed Nick's wrist and dragged him out the room.
Y/N:
"We'll be back in a sec."
MR. COHEN:
"Take your time, Y/N." He smiled while waving his hand down.
I smiled back then I dragged Nick into the hallway and shut the door. I led him over to the lockers then stopped, turning around to him as I crossed my arms.
Y/N:
"Tell me what's going on."
Nick took a deep breath while looking away from me.
NICK:
"It's not important..." he mumbled.
Y/N:
"Obviously it is if you guys can't even talk to each other."
He rubbed his forehead in stress.
Y/N:
"Please...just tell me something. I deserve the truth...please don't lie to me like everyone else has..." I said quietly with a frown.
Nick looked me in the eyes as he frowned. His eyes looked so deepened, it made me even more nervous. He nodded slowly and after a few moments, he spoke.
NICK:
"You've been hanging around Clay a lot...George and I just feel like...we don't matter as much..." he said quietly while looking down.
My eyebrows rose as my frown deepened.
NICK:
"I mean you...you slept over at his house and...you two went to the bridge and..." he bit his lip, "The only things you and I have done is get ice cream but...you did that with George so...I guess I feel like...we don't have anything unique that's just ours, you know...?"
His voice sounded so defeated, making me instantly wrap my arms around his neck and give him a tight warm hug. It caught him off at first but slowly, he embraced it.
Y/N:
"I—I'm so sorry...I never meant to make you feel that way..." I split apart from him and held his arms while looking in his eyes, "You and George mean just as much to me as Clay does. I love you guys all equally the same."
Nick's frown deepened as he looked over my shoulder with a sigh.
Y/N:
"I know you might not believe me but, it's true." I nodded, "Nick you...you're amazing and, funny and kind and..."
I looked his face up and down.
Y/N:
"There's no one like you..."
His lips finally curled up a little as he blushed.
Y/N:
"I love it that there's no one like you...that's what makes you special, and that's what makes me love you." I smiled.
Nick's eyes widened as he grinned, his cheeks becoming more red.
Y/N:
"I'm sorry for not making as much time for you it's just..." I sighed nervously, "With everything going on, Clay's just been...there. I mean, I invited you to hangout with me and George at the ice cream shop but you said you had to do homework and...I feel like me and you haven't hung out that much...I've been thinking about it too...and I've missed us."
He nodded with a small smile.
Y/N:
"How about this..." I bit my lip as I thought, "How about since no one feels left out, we have certain days planned where we hangout one on one. Like...Mondays can be with you, Tuesdays with George, Wednesdays with Clay and then we just repeat the process but on weekends, we can all hangout, so no one feels left out."
Nick nodded again as he looked deep in thought.
Y/N:
"Do you like that idea?" I nervously smiled.
NICK:
"Yeah I just..." he sighed, "I just um..."
Y/N:
"You just what?"
He looked at me the same way he did in the dream, where he wanted to tell me something, but couldn't. I frowned in response.
Y/N:
"You know you can talk to me about, anything...right?"
He nodded slowly.
Y/N:
"Okay. So, does this mean you guys will make up now?"
Nick bit his lip as he looked away from me.
Y/N:
"C'mon, I don't like seeing you guys fight." I frowned.
Nick swallowed hard then took a deep breath.
Y/N:
"Is there more to this than what you're telling me?"
He stayed silent while tilting his head down to stare at his shoes. My shoulders dropped as my frown deepened at him. I nodded slowly.
Y/N:
"I wish you guys would be more honest with me..." I said quietly then walked back to the classroom, leaving him there.
He ignored me for the rest of the class although he did glance at me several times with a frown.
Once class was over, I walked out of the class before he could talk to me. Then, I went to French with the burden of seeing Niki and Wilbur.
When I arrived, I saw Wilbur and Niki making out in the corner. His hands were grasped on her waist as her hands were messed up in his hair, pulling at it. I rolled my eyes and took my seat.
Shortly, our teacher arrived. She immediately noticed Wilbur and Niki, making her cringe.
TEACHER:
"Wilbur, Niki—" she raised her voice to them, "Make out on your own time, not mine."
Wilbur rolled his eyes with a smile while Niki grinned at him. Then they took their seats on both sides of me.
TEACHER:
"Alright so, as you all might be aware, today we have our first assembly for the year and that is because, today is the yearly club fair. You'll be seeing what clubs there are and possibly sign up for them. So, our class will be cut off by about 15 minutes along with the rest of them after this one."
After the class murmured in understanding, she began her lesson.
Throughout the class, Niki sent me death stares. She even passed me a note during the middle of it. I took it from her under the desk while my eyebrows squished together.
• NOTE •
I knew you never slept with Wilbur you hoe
Now he has to lie to everyone
Thanks a lot you backstabbing bitch
Some friend you are
Wilbur looked over my shoulder slightly and read the note. I frowned while clenching my jaw. He looked up at me with a slight frown as his eyes narrowed at me.
I slipped the note into my notebook and ignored any glares from Niki for the rest of the class.
