Leather-bound and boisterous
Knowledge within the pages
Hours spent with vanilla ink
Enough to last for ages
Green grass grows beneath the toes
And birch brings a luxury shade
Fingers brush illustrations of thrush
And we want to fly for days
A warm caress from a southward wind
And trees that whisper us love
Eagle cries from mountains nearby
And wing beats up above
The sun sinks down even further now
Lighting up the sky with fire
Yellows and reds and orange and blue
Flies my soul up higher
