once took a dance class for ballet in fourth grade. it was a beginners class, keep that in mind. the place was really warn down, super sketchy, right next to a gas station, all that good stuff. first day, i immediately felt unwelcome. everyone else had done ballet before. heck, there were two six-year-olds who said they'd been doing ballet since they were three. i wasn't mad at my mom for this btw, she signed me up. there were toxic blonde girls from private schools all laughing at my skill level and outfit. this went on for months, the class supposedly for beginners teaching skills i had never known. this went on for a few months and i finally told my mom and she stopped taking me. she told me she was sad because it costed her a lot of money, and i felt really guilty. 😔
