3.Declaration of lockdown (part 2)

*Damaris POV*

After what felt like an hour of just standing there with my shocked face. I managed to mutter two words.

"Fuck, no"

"What? "Kevin stared at me as  if he wasn't sure I'd actually say that.

Honestly, I wasn't sure either. What I was sure of, however,was that I could barely survive one evening with Kevin, let alone 24 hours a day  over a Span of 20 days.  I was trying to calculate the amount of time I'd be forced to spend with him: 48hours.which was around 472 hours more than I'd spend with him in the past three months.

It even took two weeks to figure his schedule. During the day he goes to class and at night he hits the hottest clubs in Accra. Hmm🤦‍♀

This whole lockdown shit is a living nightmare.

I folded my arms across my chest and stared at kevin. "There's no way am spending 20 days locked in this apartment with you".I said

" Oh, and you think I want this, Damaris? You're not exactly a fountain of fun. Kevin looked at me up and down before frowning

"I'd rather take my eyes out, than to look at you everyday".I spat

" I'd rather catch a virus than to be locked up with you" He snapped back at me and my eyes went wide. Woow!!  Kevin has never shouted on me before.

I couldn't deny what he said hit a nerve. I wasn't exactly sure why but I'd figured it was because he has never said anything harsh to me before until now.

"That's enough! You think am happy to be working when there is a virus outside? Hell No!! ".The police officer snapped. "Some people don't have the privilege to be staying in an apartment like yours. " So shut the hell up and take the damn box. I don't want to see you guys out, unless grocery shopping or I'll arrest you!!!

We stood frozen in place after the outburst and the police officer shoved a cardboard box into Kevin's arms. Kevin slammed the door shut.

"Damn teenagers these days, nothing but disrespect".The police officer muttered and left

" What's that exactly?, I pointed at the cardboard box in Kevin's arms.

"I don't know".He set the box on the ground"."Why don't you check it out".He said.

I let out a sigh

I opened the box and found a small booklet issued by the government, that explains the current situation and the rules we'd need to follow. I quickly skimmed through it, deciding to fully read it when am free. Other than the booklet, the box was filled with surgical masks, hand sanitizers, gloves etc. Seeing all this prepared was unexpected;it seemed that someone at least had known a pandemic was unavoidable and planned ahead

"Hm, yh. ", Almost like they knew this was going to happen. Kevin said.

" Whatever. ", I whispered turning away from him. I needed to go and splash some water on my face. Before I could walk away from him, he grabbed my wrist.

Little sparks burst from the place our skin touched and I tried to twist out of his grasp,uncomfortable with the new sensation that seemed so out of place in my body.

"Sorry.", his voice was low and I wasn't even sure I heard him right.

" For what? "

"I'm sorry for what I said, it wasn't true. Kevin said, before speaking again " I prefer you over a virus. "

I chocked a laughed and shook my head at him. "Awesome, so glad to hear, I could win against such a harsh competition. "

He laughed and it sounded so innocent and cute. It made my heart skip a beat

What? No no. You're not going there Damaris. Behave!!!

Am probably getting sick from all the stress. There was no way, I was ever going down that road
