Chapter 45

"Hey so I know you said you didn't want me to go to deep with G&G"
"Sweet Pea it's been 24 hours I swear if you..."
"No listen. Jughead wants help in figuring it out. He needs me to play but I promise you I'm just helping Jughead out"
"Fine, but I'm helping" I cross my arms "I gotta make sure your not an idiot"
"We're having a meeting now. Come on" I walk out the trailer to see the others. Pea sits down and I sit on his lap
"What's El doing here?" Jug asks
"I'm helping you with your quest" Pea nods his head so Jug understands I mean trying to figure out what's going on
"Ok well welcome. I guess your nurse Eldor then, seems fitting as you patch Sweet Pea up"
"Perfect"
"We play tomorrow, for now Sweet Pea I need you to bring Ella up to speed on what's happened so far, got it?"
"Sure thing game master"

Pea and I head back into our trailer
"Ok so why are you helping him?" I ask
"Because I can't loose you or our family. I'm worried that this game could be the end for the Serpents"
"Well we cant have that can we"
"And maybe Jughead will see that I'm not some idiot who got his sister knocked up" Pea sighs frustrated
"What?"
"Come on El you know that's what he's thinking"
"Do you really think that? Because I know Jughead sees you at the most loyal person in this gang. You'd die for the Serpents, they're your family. And anyway even if he does I see you as the best person that's ever walked into my life Pea. Yes ok sometimes your an idiot but damn I wouldn't change anything.... well maybe except the whole Josie thing"

"I've gathered you all here because the world is changing. Strange dark times have fallen upon us. The realm of Eldervair is in disorder. Afflicted by evil as it's heart and soul, the red paladin has been captured by the mad emperor and twisted into a beast of war. Our game begins with a Judas kiss. A dastardly act of betrayal. A traitor has wounded the paladin severely weakening his defences. With his life in peril it's now up to you, dream warriors, to save the red Paladin and to restore peace and order to the realm, but be warned. With every second that passes the paladins fate dims and  with it, all hope for peace in the realm. Without further ado let the game begin" all I can think about is if Archie is ok and if the others are ok, this game was a distraction. Pea explained the plans the others have for getting Archie out of juvie
"Hey are you ok?" Jug asks
"Huh? Oh yeah sorry baby brain" I smile at Jughead
"Well it's your turn to roll" I roll the dice then Jug pics up a card "the red Paladin is injured how do you proceed?"
"I take dead eyes jacket creating a bandage then we use the wood for a fire to keep warm"
"Perfect you've saved the red Paladin but now your face to face with the dragon" this goes on for hours, Im waiting to find out if Betty and the others managed to get Archie out
"Game master?" Sweet Pea says getting Jugs attention
"Did we save the red paladin?" Cheryl asks
"I don't know I made a last minute change to the quest i was hoping to have answer when we got this far"
"What do you mean you don't know?" Toni asks as my phone rings
"Hey....yeah we all are.... right ok erm I think so see you in a bit" I put the phone down and look up
"What's wrong?" Jug asks with fear in his eyes
"Its Archie they got him out"
"What? Who got him out?" Toni asks
"Errm Kevin, Betty, Veronica, Reggie and the she devil" Sweet Pea chuckles "they're bringing him here but he's hurt. I need cotton a needle, alcohol and clean water"
"You can't drink?" Fangs looks confused
"Not for me you idiot, I need it to clean the needle. I could do with a candle as well and a match box"
"Cheryl and I will go and get the stuff you need. We'll be quick"
"Hurry" Cheryl and Toni leave as I pace back and forth waiting for the others
"Babe chill" I send Pea daggers "sorry but he's going to be fine ok they will be here in a bit. Come and sit down" Sweet Pea takes my hand and I sit on the bed for Archie.

Not long later we hear banging and the hatch to the bunker is opened , Archie is thrown down
"Get him on the bed now" I yell as Pea and Jug help Archie "Pea give me your flannel, Jug rip open his shirt" I look at the wound "shit ok it's deep but not deep enough where I can't help" I apply pressure until Cheryl and Toni arrive back
"El what do you want us to do?" Fangs asks
"Fangs start heating up the needle on the candle, don't burn yourself, Pea take over here for me" Sweet Pea and I swap so now he's applying pressure. I take gloves out of the first aid box that was left here "ok Arch this is gonna hurt like hell" Archie nods his head and Pea takes off his flannel. I pour alcohol on the wound and Archie try's to hold back his yells. Fangs hands me the cooled down needle and I dip the cotton in the alcohol "ok ready?" Archie nods "Veronica give him that cloth to bite down on" I start to stitch him up. Finally after around 20 minutes I'm done and Toni applies a bandage while I take off the gloves
"There all patched up. No sudden movement" she says
"Thank you Ella, Toni" I smile at him
"Here take a swig" I hand him the left over alcohol "you deserve it. Ill leave you some painkillers take them every 4 hours. I'll remove those stitches in a couple weeks"
"Have you ever thought about becoming a nurse or a doctor?" Archie asks and I laugh
"Honestly I would love to but I haven't got good enough grades. Now rest" I smile at him and pull a blanket over his body "V I'll leave you to clean him up just go around the bandage"
"Thank you" I walk back over to Pea
"Wait Ella" I turn around
"I'm sorry I need to tell you something"
"What's wrong?"
"It's Joaquin. He was the one who stabbed me. I think the warden made him do it"
"Wow errrm thanks for telling me Archie"
"Are you alright? I know you were close and..." Betty starts
"No I'm fine. Sweet Pea can we go home?"
"Of course Princess come on. We will see you guys tomorrow"
"Wait what's this?" V says and I walk over
"Archie what happened?"
"Warden Norton to put me in my place after I tried to escape last time"
"It looks like a symbol of some sort, so you try to escape but get branded after you fail then Joaquin is asked to stab you. It's like your a moving target. Jug you don't think..."
"Maybe"
"What?" Betty asks and I shake my head
"Nothing Jug will tell you. I don't think it's a good idea for Archie to be on his own"
"I don't need..."
"Yes you do. We will take shifts"
"Jug and I will take the first shift"
"Perfect. Now from now on no one knows this bunker exists no one was apart of that breakout and no one is aware of Archie's whereabouts. Now Sweet Pea take Ella home to sleep, she looks exhausted"
"We will see you all tomorrow. Bye guys" Pea says and we wave everyone bye.
