Again i do not own dance with devils.

In the last chapter;

Nodding in understanding he silently urged her to continue. Slowly and quietly she spoke again "Anyways back to the story, I guess you could say it was a distressing time but with the continued support and love from my mom and my brother/ cousin Lindo I learned to cope with it. " She said smiling softly before her smile dropped.

Now

"But that was all before that horrible night. You see Lindo was quite angry at the guy too for all the things he said and did, heck I'm pretty sure he went so far as to threaten the guy. Unfortunately he was never the type of guy to listen. He was so arrogant and self absorbed." Ritsuka barley spat out the last sentence before she stopped and took a deep breathe to calm down. Rem squeezed her hand slightly in reassurance which got him a grateful smile from Ritsuka before she continued

 "Anyway though, one night he came to my house. He was enraged that I dared to get other girls to back me up. He wanted me to go under from shame, somehow it made him feel superior. But I just wouldn't lie down and take that crap. Maybe I should have, but I didn't know how far he was going to go. There were plenty of other girls he had done this to so they helped me expose him. I thought after that he'd leave me alone, let it go and move on. But that was wishful thinking. He came and when my mother answered the door he pushed her out of the way onto the floor causing her to stumble and fell she was really taken by surprise. He practically charged towards me yelling and violently throwing his hands around. He hit me a couple of times, or I guess I should say he fists connected a couple of times. But by then my mother was up off the ground and rushing forwards to protect me screaming all the while at him to just go away and leave us alone. He didn't listen. It happened so quick Lindo was rushing down the steps, my mom was bleeding heavily already and something in me just snapped and I screamed. I was so angry and I wanted to hurt him, than my powers went out of control and started a storm outside. From there it was a flash of lightning it struck the house really close to where he was and fire enveloped everything. The power told a lot out of me and I ended up collapsing briefly. I came to as a fire fighter was picking me up. I was relatively fine, couple of cuts and bruises some that were there before the fire because of his fists, a couple of burns." Ritsuka said rolling up her sleeves which exposed scars on varies parts of her arms that were clearly scars from burns.

 "Though as I was being carried away I saw my mother and Lindo they didn't look hurt. I was relieved for a moment but looking over at the spot where the other guy had stood all there was was some charred remains, but what scared me that most was that part of me reveled in his death." Ritsuka said lowering her sleeves to once again cover her scars.

All the devils were shocked into silence. That was without a doubt very horrific and they would know. They could see why she would be so scarred by the incident. Plus add on her being scared who she was herself it was traumatizing to say the least.

"Nii-san was hurt so bad he went into a coma. Something or someone attacked him while he was there and he flat lined. An investigation was launched of course but turned up nothing except for some shadowy figures. Needless to say they found no traces to follow and the case was closed with the final sentiment the the attacker seemed to have just vanished altogether. I'm quite certain it was one of the vampires who did it most likely to get revenge for killing their king or something along those lines. Nii-san payed for my actions so heavily they took his life." Ritsuka said clenching her fist in her lap.

"What about you mother?" Rem asked sighing as Ritsuka winced before she spoke

"She died in the fire almost immediately at least her death was quick and less painful, the firefighters rescued her body before it was burnt past recognition. But the official report says she died of a heart attack, and the other mans death was determined that he burned alive, while nii-san's death was just called a comatose heart failure. Ultimately everyone says it's certain the fire caused all their deaths and they were right. After all nii-san would not have been so vulnerable if he hadn't gone into that coma that the fire triggered, my mother wouldn't have had that heart attack if my powers hadn't acted up which she recognized to be like my fathers, and even if I detested the guy and he said all those horrible things about me I shouldn't have lost control and killed him." Ritsuka said sadly wiping tears from the corner of her eye before they could spill.

"Wait, hold on little butterfly what do you mean about your fathers powers. I thought he was human after all the pictures we saw we could clearly tell the man with your mother was a human?" Urie asked confused

"Wait you mean Roen didn't tell you?" at their confused looks and shaking heads she continued. "Oh well as you know I never really knew much about my father still don't know much really. But I learned through Roen that he was in fact not human and that was part of the reason I was the grimmore.  Roen / Cerberus told me about him, said that he knew before my adoptive father came into my life my mother fell in love with a devil, a very powerful one he said. Roen kept calling him master, lord Maksis if I remember properly. That's actually most likely the main reason he was so protective over me. I don't know what my fathers like but Roen said that since I shared some of his master blood he felt drawn to me, although he tried to keep everyone else away from me at first. He told me that's the reason he was protecting me, because I'm his masters daughter. Apparently both my mother and my brother, or well cousin technically, hid it from me for years to protect me but after the grimmore was out my devil blood came to a sort of inheritance. The powers were always there, they were just held in check by the grimmores restrictions."

"Well what with how instantly he was drawn to you and how much he seemed to like you that actually makes a fair amount of sense. Yeah I see it now, knowing Roen that actually makes so much more sense now, I was really wondering about that since we've never seen him that passionate about protecting anything or anyone if its not to do with lord Maksis." Rem said with a thoughtful expression.

"Yeah, though it was strange that he was willing to sacrifice me to awaken the grimmore. Though the whole point of that was to free Maksis which isn't so surprising then, since ultimately he cared about his master far before me." Ritsuka said with a fond look sent at Rem in the beginning that then turned to contemplative.

"I'm sorry am I the only one whose actually shocked that Ritsuka's father was not only a devil but was lord Maksis!" Mage asked astounded. Rem and Ritsuka turned their attention to him.

"Well I'm surprised but it does make a lot of sense. I mean think about it, her powers are too strong to be a low level devil and she was the grimmore, plus half breeded humans tend to have their powers develop after they've reached adulthood or are viewed as of age." Urie said seriously looking at Mage but glanced at Ritsuka for a moment before his eye's slide over to Rem and his eye's light up as an thought struck him. "Oh I just now realized but this is going to bode very well for you Rem, for your romantic relationship I mean. This way no ones going to go after her she's too powerful and important on her own. Not only that but your father will be much happier knowing you're with at least a powerful half-blooded devil, especially one that's not part vampire and is related to lord Maksis, and technically even though your father has it out for lord Maksis he won't have it out for his offspring especially since they've never met, that being said of course you should be careful for his outright response. But oh he will be so giddy to you for a daughter in law, Ritsuka." Urie said gazing curiously at them both.

Once those implications hit Ritsuka, her face burned with a heavy blush that she tried too hide but failed massively, she couldn't help it everything had happened so quickly, after all these years she had only let herself hope he would return, actually marrying him had been an idea only explored in her dreams when she was fast asleep. She would be lying though if she didn't really liked the idea of marrying the man she's been in love with for so many years but at the same time she didn't want to rush things, she wanted to be able to enjoy the here and now. Rem on the other hand was deeply relaxed enjoying her seemingly obvious thoughts that spread through her eyes, her eye's were practically sparkling at the notion, he understood that she would really want to get married one day, but wouldn't want to rush into things after all they had to make sure they could really make their relationship work. Rem wanted to treasure every moment he had with her. Plus a marriage would be no small thing, it would be a big decision because with devils when they married someone that connection could not be easily reversed.

The other two devils were just deeply amused with how flustered she was at the idea of marrying Rem. They were also pleasantly surprised with how pleased Rem looked at Ritsuka's response, although they didn't miss the calculating look in Rem's eye's clearly he was seriously thinking about it now.
