Holy shit.

"You're not giving me an option, are you? About Boston"

Mr. William smiled,

"Boston has hospitals, Emilio"

Emilio's husband was doctor.

"And you may think your life is here in Los Angeles, but your young and ambitious"

That was directed to me.

"I'm not asking you to pack your stuff and move across the country in the next weeks. We're going to transition slowly"

Emilio spoke up,

"How slow are you talking?"

Mr. Williams leaned back on his chair,

"I'd like for your team to be in Boston come next September"

Okay, that was doable.

"I don't have a team. I just have two interns and Sonia"

Emilio smiled.

"Nonsense"

Mr. Williams picked up a piece of paper,

"There's Elizabeth, Daniel, and Vladimir"

Emilio pursed his lips.

"Patrick's team"

Liza, Danny and Vlad were honestly nice people, it was their boss who was a dick.

"They will report to you from now on"

"What about the receptionist?" I wondered.

Emilio and Patrick shared one, and she was getting fired.

"I will have Miss Torres and Miss Hopper divide up duties while we look for a receptionist and train her"

"What about our license?" I asked.

My license was valid in California, not Massachusetts.

"You would have to retake the exam for the state of Massachusetts"

Fun, more hives.

"There would be a raise, for moving across the country"

I scratched at my forearm as I nodded.

"You have the option of choosing not to go since you signed a one year contract with us, Miss Saenz"

"Can I think about it?" I questioned.

He nodded.

"How long do you want to think about it?"

"Two days" I responded.

There were two loud knocks on the door.

"And that must be Patrick and his team...well now yours"

Emilio and I stood up and waited for them to step inside to make our way out. 

"You don't have to say yes, Sonia. There are other firms here in LA and I can put in a good word"

I nodded and glanced at the time.

"Let's get lunch, and talk it out"

"I'm supposed to meet with Alex for lunch" I told him.

He smiled.

"He's in town? That's great to hear"

Was it though? Alex had such a short temper at the moment especially since his rehab was not going the way he wanted it to be.
