CHAPTER 2

the sun shone into my room through the window, hitting my eyes softly, but annoyingly, i just wanted to sleep.

i somehow managed to get out of bed, and i waddled to my bathroom and brushed my teeth.

i pulled the green uniform over my head and did up the buttons, followed by pulling the long white socks onto my feet.

i grabbed a hair brush and a hair elastic and pulled my hair into a low ponytail, tying it in the mandatory green ribbon.

i grabbed my backpack, my phone and slipped my school shoes on to my feet, and made my way downstairs.

"Morning sweetie" my mum said chirpily as she placed a red apple in front of me

"hi mum" i replied back

"come on Dyl!" my brother said as he made his way out of the house

"bye mum!" i called as i followed behind my brother

"don't stress!" he said as he pulled me into a side hug

"its fine, im not stressing that much" i replied back to him

just as we walked down our driveway, 3 kids from next door, wearing the same uniform, walked down their driveway as well

one of the blonde girls noticed us and stopped

"hi! you guys must be the new neighbors, im coco" she said as she stuck out her hand for us to shake

"hi i'm Dylan, and this is Duke" i say as i shake her hand

"I'm Sylvie, and this is Ruel" the other blonde girl says as she points the tall boy next to her with dirty blonde curtains

"nice to meet you guys" Duke says as we continue walking with them

The whole way to school, we all made small talk with each other, except for Ruel, he didn't speak once, he just stared at me and then continued to look down at his phone. i wasn't entirely sure why he wasn't speaking, maybe he was just shy or maybe he was tired.

We finally arrived at school, my brother and i checked in at the office, and then went to our classes. 

I walked into my English class, which was first period, 

"ah, you must be Dylan Daniels, im Miss Green, you can sit at the back next to Eli" the teacher said as she pointed at the spot in the back next to another blonde haired kid.

"hi, im Eli Zimmer, nice to meet you" the boy said as he stuck out his hand for me to shake.

"hi, im Dylan Daniels, and the pleasure is mine" i said as he laughed

suddenly there was a loud knock at the door

"Ruel, care to explain why youre late to my class?!" Miss Green yelled as she looked at the kid

"yeah sorry bout that" he replied as he walked to the back of the classroom, near me and Eli

"you're in my seat" he said as he towered over me

"um actually the teacher told me to sit here" i replied to him

"well im telling you to move, so scram" he said to me

"i'm good" i said as i opened my textbook

"what the fuck, seriously get up" he said again

"yeah no, i dont wanna" i said back to him

"ruel drop it" Eli butted in

"so your on her side" ruel spat at Eli

"her side? its  a bloody desk, sit next to her or at the front" Eli said as he laughed sarcastically at Ruel

"whatever" ruel said as he sat down in the spot next to me

"whats his problem?" i asked Eli

"he's like that to everyone, you'll get used to it" he responded

what a douche, i thought to myself

i was kinda wishing that my annoying ass brother was in my classes, because i really needed him at a time like now.

*BING BING BING*

the bell sounded as everyone got up from their desks and left the classroom

"hey Dylan, how was class?" Duke said as he found me at my locker

"yeah alright, Ruel is an asshole" i replied

"really? he seemed nice" duke said as we walked to the field together

"dane said we could sit with him and his friends" Duke said as he walked to a tree at the opposite end of the fields

"okay cool" i responded as a brown haired kid came next to Duke

"if it isnt the man himself" the kid said as he man hugged my brother

"ayeee sammy! how are ya mate?" Duke responded 

"and this must be the sister, im Samson, or Sam for short" the boy said as he gave me a high five

"im dylan, dyl for short" i responded with a laugh as i returned to high five

"you coming to sit with me, dane and the crew" Samson asked 

"yeah, who are the others?" duke asked

"well, there is Mary, Sunday, Dane, Me, Eli and Ruel" Samson responded

"great" i mumbled under my breathe

"let me guess, Ruel was an asshole to you?" Samson said as i nodded my head and giggled

"very correct" i said to him
