Chapter 22

 room I shut the door behind us and we got to talking. 

Christian

I didn’t want to wake up, but at the same time I didn’t want to go back to sleep.

 That’s when I looked over and noticed that Kate wasn’t in her room. 

Where the heck had she gone? I got up and went downstairs to see if she was

 there. All I found was her mom.

“Hey Christian, what are you doing,” she asked me.

“Nothing much, have you seen Kate,” I asked her. 

“She’s up in my room talking to Brittney. Are you hungry?” 

“Yeah, so how long have they been talking for,” I asked. 

“Fifteen minutes at the least,” Kate’s mom said. “What do you want to eat?”

“Something with chicken,” I replied. “Do you think  they’re almost done

 talking?”

“I don’t know I guess you could go up and see,” she told me. 

“K, I’ll be back,” I said while starting to head up the stairs. 

Brittney

“Do you feel better now,” Kate asked me.

“Lots,” I said smiling and wiping the tears out of my eyes. 

There was a knock on the door and we both looked up. 

“Can I come in,” Christian said from outside. 

Kate looked at me and I nodded my head. 

“Come in,” Kate said. 

Christian walked in through the door. 

“Did I interrupt anything,” he asked. 

“NO, we just finished talking,” Kate assured me. 

“Oh, okay,” he replied. 

“I’m going to go back to Nate’s before he gets too worried,” I said standing up.

“Okay, text me if you need to talk again,” Kate told me. 

“Bye,” I said before leaving. 

Kate

“Is she okay,” Christian asked me. 

“Yeah, she just wanted to talk that’s all,” I replied. 

“You look stressed out,” he told me. 

“It shows,” I asked. 

“A lot, why are you stressed out?” 

“Did you realize that we start doing online schooling tomorrow,” I asked. 

“Really,” Christian asked in turn. 

“Yep,” I replied.

“I was wondering exactly how many months did we miss of school,” he asked.

“Two at least,” I answered. 

“We probably wouldn’t be able to catch up, huh,” he asked.

“Possibly, but I think that it’d just be easier to do it online,” I answered. 

“Yeah, you’re right,” Christian mumbled. 

“Why’d you bring it up?”

“I was just wondering since Nate and Brittney are there. Oh, and Nick’s there 

too,” he replied.

“Which reminds me, what the heck happened to him? Has anybody tried calling

 or texting him today?”

“I don’t think so, but we should try to,” he told me. 

“K, let’s go watch TV downstairs,” I said. 

Nick

“Does anybody know yet,” Sarah asked me.

We were at her house hanging out and lying on her bed. 

“Not unless you’ve told anybody,” I replied. 

“Nope, would you like people to know, or do you want to kep it a secret,” she

 asked me.

“I honestly don’t care,’ I said nonchalantly. “You’re the woman in the

 relationship so that means that you can decide.” 

“Aw, that’s sweet,” Sarah told me. 

“Uh, thanks,” I said in a confused tone.

“Tel me Nick, how far do you think is too far when you just start going out with

 someone?”

“Do I have to answer that,” I asked sheepishly. 

“Yes,” she said seriously.

“Are you sure you want to know,” I asked. 

“Yes, now stop avoiding the question and just answer already,” she said. 

“I think sex is too far when you start going out  someone,” I said awkwardly. I 

looked away from her after I said it. 

“Oh, come on,” Sarah laughed. 

“What’s wrong with what I said,” I asked defensively. 

“It’s not what you said because believe me I’m with you on that one,” she was 

able to choke out between bursts of laughter. 

“Then what was it,” I asked confusedly.

“It’s just why are you so embarrassed by it? I mean we’ve known each other for 

a while now and now we’re a couple,” Sarah explained. 

“Wow, I’ll never understand you completely,” I laughed. 

“You will if this lasts,” she said entwining our fingers. After she did that she

 leaned over and kissed my lips.
