bc i realized that i seem a little hypocritical bc i kinda use them

let me explain;

the thing i don't like is when something like ~*~*~TIME SKIP A COUPLE HOURS BC I CAN~*~*~

like, you never see that kinda shit in a book you'd pick up at a real bookstore.

however, in actual published novels, they do sometimes use "time skips" in the sense of an extra space between paragraphs, or a little character.

this is to break up the text easier during longer chapters, and often gives the reader a good stopping place if they need to go do something or just refocus themselves in the text.

i do use "time skips" in one of my books in the form of ♢ to signify that a large chunk of time passed.

but i DO NOT just gloss over what happened in those few hours, or what time it is now. so if you're going to used an extra space or little character as a "time skip", make sure you explain what had happened in those couple hours, and reaffirm the time of day to the reader, or else they will get very confused.

time skips are okay, as long as they're done right, and not like *~~*~~*MAGICAL TIME SKIP THIRTY MINUTES FROM THE TOOTH FAIRY*~~*~~*

did this make sense?
