Hey everyone so this is actually a dual story between me, StellaLuna23 (formally Goodbye1011) and NinaCrisante. We thought it would be awesome to co-write a story. For the past few weeks we have been emailing back and forth. And....thus The Dragon and the Dagger was born! This is a fantasy, adventure, romance story. Read it if you want to, we won't make you. All we ask is that you enjoy!!

Oh and let us know what you think! We could really use the advice of other wattpaders :)

Dark times approach, my friends,

Dark times indeed.

An unexpected evil is coming,

An evil no one can see.

In one thousand years, precisely,

The Dark Side shall return.

Like a mouse in a meadow,

Like a fire that does not burn.

An invisible evil that no one can find

For it's in the least likely of places

It lies deep inside.

So beware, my dragon friends,

The blame lies heavy on you.

For your greed and ambition,

You must suffer in return.

For one thousand years,

A great war shall be fought.

Countless battles with the Dark Side

For a war that cannot be won.

Take great care, my friends,

And lend a listening ear,

For the skies may yet send hope, though it be slight and mere

In one thousand years, a great feast there will be

A dark feast, a cold feast where the chosen one will be seen.

Scales dark like the night, and eyes bright like melting gold

Will tell the chosen one, the one to save you all

Until his twenty first birthday

This young dragon shall have

To find a thousand-year old dagger,

Hidden so well it cannot be found.

Should he succeed, good shall prevail.

But should he fail, all shall be lost.

For terrible sins like yours, there shall always be a cost.

Make haste my friends, heed my words well

For my compassion runs short since you have cursed us all to a living hell

The messenger tripped as he made his way to the looming cave up ahead. His breaths came out in short, quick pants as he ran through the night. Held tightly in his hands was a rectangular shaped object covered in linen. His eyes traveled back and forth, searching the sky for drifting shadows, any sign that would tell him they had seen him.
