We went inside and I saw Kuya's wife, Mary Anne. She smiled at me and helped me with my bags.

It felt awkward at first because Mary Anne and I aren't that close. I mean, they never go to our house for vacation. I don't know why though. Maybe because of work.

"You must be tired." She said.

"A little."

No, I was lying. I am exhausted.

"Let me show you your room." She said.

I nodded and followed her.

We went upstairs. I looked around. Their house is really clean.

"This is your room." She said as she opened the door.

I looked inside.

"Wow, this room is beautiful." I said.

I scanned the room. It's not that girly, but it's not the boyish type either.

"I designed it, myself. I hope you liked it. I didn't really know what your likes and dislikes were. Your brother just helped me." She smiled, awkwardly.

I almost forgot that Mary Anne was an interior designer.

"I liked it, really. It's very beautiful. Thank you, Mary Anne. I know we aren't that close," I laughed. Mary Anne did, too. "But I just want you to know that I'm happy that you're my brother's wife. Thank you for letting me stay here, too." I said.

"It's nothing, Kirby. You are family." She said and hugged me.

"Thanks." I hugged her back.

After I set my things, I went downstairs for dinner.

I sat beside Nathan—my nephew, and ate my delicious food.

"Mom called to check on you." Kuya said.

"Ugh, mom." I chuckled.

Kuya laughed for a second and continued talking.

"By the way, where do you want to go tomorrow? I'll show you around and—"

"It's okay, Kuya. I know you have work. I can manage." I said.

"Are you sure? You might get lost." He said.

"I can show her around, dear." Mary Anne said. "Besides, Nathan wants to go to the Big Ben tomorrow." She said.

"Oh my god! I'm really excited to go there." I said.

After we finished eating, I helped Mary Anne with the dishes.

"What are you going to take up for college?" Mary Anne asked out of the blue.

"Psychology." I smiled.

"Wow, that's amazing. I have always wanted to be a psychologist, but I realized that interior design is the course for me."
