LOVE AFTER MANY SIGHTS

Chapter 4: Revelation

"I barely know the guy and pakakasalan ko sya?" Medyo pasigaw na composed parin na pagkasabi ko.

"Eric talked to me, crying. He's too worried that Darren won't find the right person to spend the rest of his life with. Baka abusuhin daw considering na marami nang achievement ang anak nya and wala daw syang ibang nakikitang karapat dapat kundi ikaw. He asked for my permission, and I said if you agree, then why not, you're at the right age."

"Eric wants to talk to you too." Dad added.

I looked at mom, and she's not saying anything, it seem like Dad just talked to her about this bago pako bumaba kaya state of shock pa rin sya.

" Alam naba to ni Darren?"

"Yes, and he agreed to fulfill his dying father's wish."

"How about you dad? what did you say?" with my cold tone.

"As i've said. It's all upto you. Naa-awa lang ako kay Eric. He never really requested anything to me. He has been a very good friend for years."

"I'm not against Darren. I know he is a good man and i'm sure hindi sya mahirap mahalin but the conditions are way too difficult and risky. Marriage na kaya ang pinag uusapan dito, hindi bahay bahayan lang."

"When can I meet Tito Eric Dad? Sana as soon as possible. Para maclarify ang lahat lahat."

Dad said "How about this evening. I am scheduled to pay him a visit later . You can come with me."

"I'll go with you, is Darren going to be there? I need to talk to him too."

" I think he's going to be there. He is spending most of his time sa bahay nila." Dad said.

I excuse myself to have a think about it kahit hindi pako tapos mag breakfast, I lost my appetite after this revelation. All for a relaxing Sunday. Now I'm having a headache with all this thinking. Nakinig nalang ako nang mga inspirational songs from my phone. 

Ang rami kong tanong, hindi man lang ba tumutol si Darren? Is he even interested in me? Would we eventually fall in love? Akala ko the next relationship I'm going into ay better than my previous ones pero parang mas magiging complicated ba sa normal na buhay that I am looking forward to.
