Chapter 3: The Captive Jedi, the Truth About the Senate

I shook my head "Only by reputation." This was completely true. I had heard about the Bounty Hunter he spoke of, as you know, but I'd never met him, not yet at least. Dooku also answered the question. "Well there are no Bounty Hunters here that I am aware of, the Geonosians don't trust them."

Obi-Wan commented "Well who can blame them, but he is here I can assure you." We once again fell into silence before Dooku said "It's a great pity our paths have never crossed before Obi-Wan, Qui Gon always spoke very highly of you."

A sad expression came across his face, he looked down and said "I wish he were, still alive. I could use his help right now." I nodded in agreement. I had admired Qui Gon in the past. I would have wanted to be his student. But in the end Obi-Wan got lucky and I wound up where I did. When I heard of his passing on Naboo, I was extremely saddened. That whole incident on Naboo was what eventually pushed me to leave the Jedi.

Obi-Wan coldly spat "Qui Gon Jinn would never join you." Dooku went to point out. "Don't be so sure my young Jedi, you forget, that he was once my apprentice just as you were once his. He knew all about the corruption in the Senate but he would have never gone along with it if he'd learned the truth as me and Y/N have."

This obviously confused Obi-Wan who asked "The truth?" Dooku confirmed "The Truth." I knew what he was about to say. He told me the same thing when we reunited. After I left the Jedi, I spent a year searching the galaxy, Dooku caught wind of the Padawan looking for him and sought me out himself. It was here he confessed two truths. Firstly about my own parentage which the Jedi knew and kept hidden from me, the second was a secret about the Senate which he was about to reveal now.

"What if I told you the Republic was now under the control of a Dark Lord of the Sith." That exact phrasing as well. Exactly how he'd said it to me nine years ago. And just like me, Obi-Wan initially questioned it. "No, that's not possible. The Jedi would be aware of it."

And again, Dooku repeated the same thing he'd said to me. "The Dark Side of the Force, has clouded their vision my friend. Hundreds of Senators are now under the influence of a Sith Lord named, Darth Sidious."

Now here's where mine and Kenobi's minds differed, while I asked him to elaborate. Obi-Wan was still stuck in the Jedi's narrow mindset. "I don't believe you." He shook his head and continued glaring down at us as his restraints rotated him.

Dooku explained "The Viceroy of the Trade Federation was once in league, with this Darth Sidious. But he was betrayed ten years ago by the Dark Lord. He came to me for help, told me everything." Here's what intrigued me. Had Gunray and Dooku been in discussion longer than I thought? How long had this plan of Dooku's been in development?

He leaned forward and made the same proposition he made me. "You must join us Obi-Wan, and together, we will destroy the Sith!" And it was again, our responses differed. While I agreed to the offer, Obi-Wan just grunted and said "I will never join you Dooku."

Dooku sighed and turned to the exit. As the door opened, the light outside was gone, bathing him in darkness. I just about saw him turn around and shoot a smirk to Kenobi who continued to watch before he said. "It may be difficult to secure your release."

With that, he left. I was about to follow however I heard Obi-Wan call after me. "Y/N!" I grinned and said "Obi-Wan. It's good to see you again." Obi-Wan just glared down at me before he asked angrily "Why are you here? With Dooku, the Trade Federation, all of them."

I kept my grinned "I'm glad you asked. After I left the Jedi Order, I wandered the galaxy. Searching for Dooku. I wanted to know why he left the Jedi. After a year he must have caught wind because he appeared, seemingly from no where."

Obi-Wan asked bluntly "And?" I explained "AND, he told me what he told you. About Sidious, his grasp of the Republic. Unlike you though, I saw a way to finally solve the corruption of the Senate." Again, Obi-Wan just asked "And the Shipwright's Guild? How did that come about?

This was it, "Dooku revealed the truth. You could call it a birthright. You see, the previous Minister of the Shipwright's Guild had some off the table dealings with various crime syndicates. The Black Sun, the Pikes, you name it. The Jedi were sent to investigate. One Jedi went undercover. He found incriminating evidence against the Minister, but he also found something else. A baby, left alone. A baby with a strong attachment to the Force. Me."

Obi-Wan seemed even more confused. "Wait, so-." I nodded "Yes, the previous Minister was my father. With him gone, I was free to take up where he left off. Have done for the last nine years. I cut off the criminal ties and instead formed agreements with other corporations, the Trade Federation being one of them."

Obi-Wan's eyes narrowed. "And the previous Minister? You just killed him didn't you?" At this point I snapped "He deserved what he got!" After that, I sighed, calming my breathing as I said "Enough about me."

Stepping forward, I continued "I beg you to reconsider Dooku's offer Obi-Wan. This is a chance to start over. Give the galaxy a fresh start." Obi-Wan didn't respond, instead just glaring down at me. I knew there was no chance to convince him.

I went towards the exit and just like Dooku, once I was partially bathed in the darkness, I turned towards Obi-Wan and eerily stated. "Your fate is out of my hands Obi-Wan, I wish you the best." With that I left the room.

Little did I know, Obi-Wan had sent out a signal before his capture. A signal which would lure two more prisoners here...

Author's Note: And that's it for Chapter 3! I hope you liked this as much as the last two. The next one may be quite interesting, it will be a bit of a timeskip into the film and will actually be based around two deleted scenes from Attack of the Clones. I watched both of them and felt like including it. After that though we'll have the first action sequence of the story, the Geonosian Arena. While Y/N won't actually fight in that scene, I do have a good fight planned for the end of the segment that should make up for it. I hope you enjoy what's to come and as always, thank you for reading.
