Here is a list of ingredients that CONTAIN gluten so stay away:
Wheat, barley, rye, malt, most oats (only certain ones are gluten free), bulgur, durum, farro, spelt, semolina, triticale, and caramel color. There are many more however, these are the most common.

When looking at labels, if it has ingredients that specify that corn or rice is used, then you are good to go. Corn and rice are naturally gluten-free.

If you are afraid of missing something, there are great apps that can actually help you identify whether or not an item (food, makeup, soap, etc.) is gluten free. In the app store or Google play if you search gluten free scanner, there are a whole bunch of different scanners that will suit your needs.
