The first website to ever peak my interest in writing, was Quizilla. The dorky website originally made for quizzes, yet you could post stories, poems, even song lyrics. Eventually I drifted to fanfiction, the stories were better written and mature, but no quizzes or games.
One of my favourite writers from Quizilla, mentioned they would be moving to Wattpad to finish their story (My Life With The Walter Boys). Which moved me here.
Every two-three months I would check on Quizilla to see how it was doing, acknowledging that many popular writers and quiz-makers left to Fanfiction or Wattpad. I would check my account and with that turn back to Wattpad.
Today, I went to search for Quizilla, as the common thing I do as if checking on a child. When searching it up, I came to find the word on Urban Dictionary, another quiz site, and a link on wikipedia. Clicking on wiki, I came to find out that they had shut down the website in October, 2014.
It saddens me to know that the website that brought me to where I am as a hobby writer and creative thinker finally closed down after being an ongoing popular website for over a decade.
So, rest in peace Quizilla, you will be missed.
