Hurricane Dorian is about to become a huge messy inconvenience, here in Central Florida.
Hmmm...there could be a weird story in it.

Hey! Thanks for voting on Loreless, it's much appreciated. I am wondering if you had a chance to read the extra scene and whether you think its necessary.
Great that you have been inspired to post some stories yourself!

@Triffid_Rules Yes, I think they all practice shamanism. What surprised me was that not only the "medicine man" has access to spirits, but everyone also has their own personal guide.
Thanks for reading and voting. Nice to meet someone who knows what I'm talking about : )

@PJWhittlesea Learning by doing, in an environment that punishes errors, is the way to go. I found those few months along the US/Mexican border a continuously eye-opening experience, even as it tried to kill me nearly every day.
I need to reload Loreless, to be sure whether I read that chapter.
I hadn't realized the Original people had the spirit guide/totem/medicine concept, tho I should - every Stone Age culture I've looked at has that, or its equivalent. Even our European style modernism has it - ever hear of Guardian Angels? :P~

The extra scene is in the last chapter entitled Authors Note, did you read that?

Interesting that you've had a similar experience. Struggling with whether I had the right to write from an outsiders point of view was my biggest hurdle. But by actually doing it I personally found some of the answers I was looking for.

            Thanks for the encouragement.
