Hey Wattpad!!:)) My name is Amy, I'm 17, and LOVE writing! I also love reading! At some point, I want to send something into a publishers and maybe (with a lot of luck) I'll sell. Who knows? For now, I'll write on here! Anyway, I get a lot of questions about writing and stuff, so if you ever need help feel free to ask! I don't always have the best advice but I'll always do my best to help. Or, you know, if you just want to talk, you can message me any time!:) Random fact: my story, Just One Night, WON Teen Fiction: On The Rise!!!!:D It's without a doubt my greatest accomplishment to date, so thank you to every single fan who cared and supported in some way!!:D I'm on Twitter! Follow me@_x_Amyyy_x_ (please?) And, uh, I have tumblr... http://ifeellikeineedtotryandbecool.tumblr.com/ I FOLLOW BACK! If you ever want to know anything about me, feel free to ask!! "Writerism: the art of both hating and loving the life of a writer." I love all my fans more than I should. Seriously, my friends don't get it when I start talking about Wattpad, and all I can talk about is how "a fan said this" or "a fan said that". You guys are the reason I keep writing, and you're all amazing. If I'm down, and decide to tell Wattpad, I'll be cheered up in minutes. I love you guys! <3 So, yeah, that's me. Amy, 17, writer/reader, slightly boring, love you guys. Good summary, I think. <3

@kale6207 Yay! I'm glad you're going to be writing!!!:) Okay, advice. These days, there's no such thing as a completely original story. With all the books, novels, series, amateur stuff, self-published stuff, there's pretty much nothing that's been covered already. The trick is to focus on YOU. What YOU want your story to be. So what if someone did something similar? If you find your idea is too similar, and they call you out, you can apologize and try again. Usually, that doesn't happen because each idea is unique in some small way. So you just have to go for it and write what you want. And no, it's not horrible to write cliche. Sometimes a good cliche is needed! Just make sure the grammar and stuff are right, and you'll be fine. The big question... You can start whichever way. Usually what I'll do, but this is just me so you don't have to, is I'll write the first chapter alone. Just write it with no filter and no backspace, just go for it. After that, I'll see if I like the tone of the story, or if maybe the chapter needs to go in later instead, that kind of stuff. That chapter is then used to create an outline based on the style and mood, if that makes sense? You'll probably get writer's block at LEAST once, but the fun(!) part is pushing through it. That's a whole other conversation, but if you get there and need help, feel free to ask! I feel honored that you'd ask me for help! Thank you!!:) Good luck with the story, and let me know when you start it!:) <3
So I am on a summer break from work, and I have decided that I REALLY want to give writing a story a shot, I have been wanting to for a long long time, just not sure how good I could be.. But like you told me, I will never know until I try, right? So I was hoping for some advice... I have read ALOT of stories on here, How do I write a story of my own, with making sure I don't accidently re-write something that I presume to be my own minds thought, when its something I have just remembered reading in the past?? I don't want to rip off anyones stories/characters/lines? Also, Is it horrible to write a cliché story? such as bad boy, best friend love, brothers best friend stuff? has it been out done? And a BIG question, where do I start? after I have an idea, do you do outlines? or do you just let it flow from your mind? im worried I will get writers block and fail to finish a story,.... Thanks in advance for any and all help!! Super appreciated!!!!! As you're one of my FAV writers on this site!!! :) Thanks Again
