I never thought that I would prefer an ereader to those wonderful paper and board books the their fantastic smell and feel, but after being gifted a Nook for Christmas, I was hooked. I soon acquired a Kindle keyboard, then a Kindle touch, followed shortly thereafter by a Kindle Fire. I see the new Kindle HD in my future very soon also! Through these devices, I have discovered a huge world full of the most wonderful independent authors, most of them much better than the big publisher authors I had been reading for years. Not to mention the fact that these authors are some of the nicest people I have ever communicated with.

My favorite genres are crime thrillers, murder mysteries, throw in a mix of horror, a little fantasy and some romantic/adventure and I have a great mix for my reading obsession.

I have been a beta reader now for over a year and took a class through Graduate School USA , which was a complete course on editing and publishing. I feel now I have the ability to give authors some good, educated advice on their work. My day job is a medical transcriptionist/editor, so I read and edit medical material all day at work and then come home and do the same for pleasure. I find I have more time to fit these projects in now that I am almost an empty nester. There has never been a better time to make the time for me to do the things I love the most.
